Go figure. They are absorption. These are the ones I use. Dirt cheap. https://www.parts-express.com/sonic-barrier-fwp122-studio-acoustic-foam-wedge-panel-12-x-12-x-2-black-12-pack--260-547 Remember I have Acoustat 2+2s 8 feet tall and twenty inc...

Sure Duke but I think there is one caveat. You don't want reflected energy off the front wall coming right back at you. I wish I could draw a picture here but essentially you want the reflection to take the long way around the room. So with a prop...
Integrated amps with room correction...
The only way to do effective room correction is with a calibrated mic. You can not guess what the room and speaker are going to do (too many variables) you have to measure it. What are you going to measure it with? A thermometer? yyz illustrates t...
Integrated amps with room correction...
The best unit currently is the Trinnov Amethyst. $11,000 with it's microphone. The microphone is sold separately as Trinnov figures most people will have the set up done by the dealer. No guts not glory. It does have a very nice computer interface...
Diagnosing a spitting/popping channel- need some help!
IKdog, you have not localized the problem yet. Swap cables on the output of the VAC. If the problem changes sides then you know it is the VAC. If it does not change sides then it is the Lt amp or beyond.

You bet Duke. This is a major reason line source dipoles sound the way they do. They minimize reflected energy in a way no other type of speaker can match. Horns can be made to do almost the same thing by controlling their directivity. It seems ha...
Can you use the Kirmuss Ultrasonic cleaner without the lengthy white paste steps
It is a PITA. Kirmuss uses a lower frequency if I remember correctly so, it may not work well with just distilled water. You will have to play it by ear. I would never rub my records that way. It is too easy for abrasive contaminants to get into t...
Phono Cart Impedance Question
I doubt RFI three. All the original tubes in my ARC were noisy. The SLN tubes if I remember correctly are 1 in 100! But it could be just inherent noise in your phono section. It does not seem that bad according to your description. The best thing ...
garrard vs clearaudio innovation
Having said all that. The fact that there are so many still around speaks for the build quality of the Garrard and there is certainly a retro cool about them. Given the right Plinth, arm and cartridge I'm sure they can sound great. But, even brand...
garrard vs clearaudio innovation
Isn't that something noromance. I am not here to upset anyone or tell them what they should buy. By all means buy what you like. However, turntables are very simple mechanical devices. The simpler the better. No turntable can beat the laws of phys...
Upgraded power supply for Sota Sapphire Series III turntable
No need to. SOTA has released their own DC motor and power supply.Check out their web site.
garrard vs clearaudio innovation
Glen and just how will the Garrard be "much better" than the Clearaudio which not only is a belt drive but also has a magnetic bearing. It certainly is not going to be better on the rumble front. If you put the same tonearm and cartridge on both t...
garrard vs clearaudio innovation
My fathers Rek O Kut Turntable not only rumbled but it fed back like crazy. On the HH Scott Preamp the rumble filter was always turned on.He had a custom cabinet made for the whole system and looking back the turntable was mounted poorly. It looke...
