B&W 805 Signature vs PM1 & 805D Not exactly your question but I had the 805D and went back to the 805N. Actually I ran. I have not heard the PM1 but the only criticism I have read is that it lacks a hint of high end detail. That might be a benefit of the 805S.
Help: WPC for my speakers From my experience, the sound signature of the 2010s2 is a lush, comfortable and hazy treble. All the details are there but are "misty." I have the amp paired with Harbeth SHL5 which has very good bass. The 2010s2 has no problem driving them to ve...
Dynaudio C1 MK1 advantages over MK2/Signature Thanks guys. I just went back to MKII so now I have gone round trip (MK2-MK1-MK2). I am enjoying the MKIIs. They seem to be less demanding on my amp while having greater clarity.
Help: WPC for my speakers The 2010s2 and 3010s2 are close in price. However, I use the 2010s2 to power Harbeth SHL5s and would not want more power. It is a great match. Also, B&Ws are really love or hate thing for most audiophiles. To mr they are great.
Help: WPC for my speakers I've got the 2010S2. While it is one of my favorite amps, I would not say imaging is its strong suit. It has a lot of body and it a little rolled off and pleasantly hazy at the top. For body and imaging I would suggest a B&W monitor like the PM1.
Dynaudio C1 MK1 advantages over MK2/Signature I've owned them both at different times so I can't really remember the differences too well. Currently I have the MK1 and the tweeter seems smoother to me but that could be amp related. They sure do soak up power.
Help: WPC for my speakers Changing speakers will change the imaging. I am a big fan of imaging and find that all speakers image differently, usually the smaller the speaker the better the image. Also, Exposure has great tone and warmth but if you are after sharp imaging, I...
Tubes vs Solid State - Imaging, Soundstaging, 3D Re: A rebel? Perhaps. A businessman first and foremost.I hope I never become so ravaged by this hobby that I am openly hostile for the sake of attention as this poster. It looks like pasture time...
Ayon Triton or Spirit III with Dynaudio C1's While I cannot help with most of the amplifiers in question, I am also in a somewhat similar situation. I have some c1s on the way (mk1) and own a variety of amps. I previously owned the mk2 paired with a Cary sli80 which was a great combo in my s...
Tubes vs Solid State - Imaging, Soundstaging, 3D Thank you to everyone that has commented on this thread. Regarding solid state missing low level detail, does that then mean that tube amplifiers offer more subtle details which thereby produce a more complete amplification of the source material?...
Dynaudio C1 II vs Focal Micro BE vs Harbeth SHL5 Xti16 - Your observation of the EL34s lacking in lows/highs while having a magical midrange is also my experience. Which do you think images the best?Mapman - There is a speaker builder called Soundfield Audio that used to build monitors using the...
Dynaudio C1 II vs Focal Micro BE vs Harbeth SHL5 I currently have the Svetlana EL34 Winged Cs. I have heard that the Winged C KT88s are great. Any thoughts on tubes you like for the C1s pairing?
Dynaudio C1 II vs Focal Micro BE vs Harbeth SHL5 Well, it is some months later and I have sold the Focals. I am not happy about it but I am a wandering man. The Harbeths are still with me.So, I'm thinking about revisitng the C1s - the originals this time as I have purchased an Octave v40se. So w...
Integrated for B&W PM1 I want a pair.
Tubes vs Solid State - Imaging, Soundstaging, 3D Well, thank you for the overwhelming amount of information. I did not mean to start a controversial discussion but I suppose that is inevitable when the topic of tubes versus Solid state comes up. What I have gathered from the discussion is that t... |
