Dynaudio C1 II vs Focal Micro BE vs Harbeth SHL5
Well all, since I wrote this posting over a year ago, I have taken the plunge and become a Harbeth dealer. It was a natural progression. I finally found myself owning every Harbeth model and I thought "...maybe I like these enough to sell them..."...
Focal micro utopia be VS Dynaudio C1
Hi Paul - NVP,I have a question for you not related to this thread. Could you email me at michaelkingdom at gmail com ? Thanks.Murphy, It was nice talking to you last night! Good luck on your choice.
Best integrated amp for Harbeth SHL5s
I have all the Harbeths except the 40.1 and the SHL5 is a very great speaker, perhaps my favorite. I have tried it with Naim, Luxman, VAC, Classe, Pass but the ands down winner for me is Exposure. The 2010S2 model. So perfect. Please give it a try!
MY REVIEW: Merlin TSM MMM BME
Great hobby and I'm glad we can speak directly to the creators of our toys in most cases. I've owned the TSM-MMI and liked them, still crave to have them again at some point. Anyway, this tearing people down - whether it is the OP or BP is just sa...
First Post Looking for Integrated Amplifier
Outlaw Audio RR2150 is amazing. It has everything - am/fm, mm/mc phono, analog sub management, great dac. Go for one! There's one for sale now on Agon!
Shocking 3D sound in 2 channel
Yes, I WAS scared by the little Altecs. They are a single driver design and provide a very supple, smooth sound. I use them for background music, electronic lounge music. However, they really create an amazing soundfield and once in a while hit me...
Shocking 3D sound in 2 channel
I really only have had this phenomena happen a few times. I have Maggies 1.7, Dyn C1 sigs, Harbeth SHL5 as well as tube and SS amps. I love them all and I love the hobby. However, this ultra real 3D has only happened with my Harbeths (on Exposure ...
Advice on monitor/bookshelves under $2,000
For monitor/bookshelves in the sub $2000 range I would not hesitate to recommend the B&W 805N. This is a magic speaker. I had the 605 S2 and there is no correlation at all. 805N do so much right it is unbelievable. Their current model, the 805...
Recommend an integrated amp, $800-$1000
I second the RR2150. I've owned many integrateds and I will always hang onto the Outlaw. It is great. Above all the functions, it sounds great.
Integrated Feeding Integrated
The receiver that I am using as a pre has preouts (variable volume and EQable) and record out (fixed which bypasses all volume/tone controls). I find the setup sounds the best when I use the record out signal and control the volume on the second i...
Integrated Feeding Integrated
I see - thanks for clarifying that I'll be running through two attenuators as well as 2 pre circuits. I'm doing this because quite simply, I'm playing around. My main integrated has everything under the sun (dacs, mm, mc, rca, xlr, am/fm/hd) and I...
Help: WPC for my speakers
Yes, I agree. I recently hooked up a much more powerful Classe CA-2300 to my B&W 802N and quickly learned they can put out serious bass.
B&W 805 Signature vs PM1 & 805D
I would go for the Sigs, if only to revisit and find out which pair creates the most magic in your space. I would venture to guess that the 805S is closer to the N than the D. Keep us posted on your path!
What is Imaging?
So, it is just location and separation, not depth/realism?
B&W 805 Signature vs PM1 & 805D
The 805N were my first set of real speakers, the kind that schooled me on the magic of 2-channel. Since I bought those, 20+ pairs of other speakers (all great in their own way) have come and gone through my system. That includes the 805D. They sou...
