Line Magnetic 219ia vs Mc225 I have the 219. Great amp. I played with the 12ax7s but ultimately went back to the stock. The amo is amazing as shipped. I have the rca and telefunkens if I get bored. Also, I have an EAR 868 pre that I use on the direct taps. The sou dstage gets...
Recommendations for replacing B&W 804s / HTM3s N & S are historically important lines. Nothing B&W has topped them since, unless you go to Vivid.
Line Magnetic 219ia vs Mc225 I have the 219ia and the 518ia. They are great. Drive B&W, Sonus Faber and Harbeth with ease. Excellently well made. If they were made in the US you could triple the price and not blink.
BW 800-805 D3 series VS 800-805 Nautilus/S series The used prices are very strong. 1500-2000 for the n805 and another 250 respectively for the 805s. The 804s goes for about 2500-2700 in mint condition. This speaks to their overall excellence. I hope to hear more about the D3s.
BW 800-805 D3 series VS 800-805 Nautilus/S series Yeah, I currently have the N805, 805S and 804S. The more generations B&W pumps out, the more it depresses the market price of these amazing speakers. Also, the woodwork peaked around this time imo.
Line Magnetic 219ia & 518ia tube rolling Fantastic. I spoke with Brendt Jessee who said the Full Music branded 300b and 845s the 219ia ships with are very high quality. Apparently the area to improve on the 219 is the 12ax7s and the 310As. Will be interesting. The amps sound amazing with...
Leaving the Naim game . . . I'm a dealer for Exposure, Naim, Rega, LFD and Luxman. I say that only to mention that I too have been chasing the prefect solid state British sound. For whatever reason Luxman found its way into the group for many British audio fans.Anyway, Expos...
Building second system around Harbeth P3 esr You may also contact Michael at Blue Jay Audio. (It’s me). Anyway, I find that the best synergistic match with the P3ESR is the Exposure 2010s2. In my opinion it surpasses all the other usual suspects. Naim, Rega, LFD, Leben, Luxman are all excell...
focal 1038be or sopra 2 The Sopras are excellent. Very different from the 1038be. The Sopras borrow heavily from the Utopia line. They have amazing low level resolution and are very synergistic with certain solid state amps, especially Naim. They need a nice, robust amp ...
Sopra N°2 I am running the Sopra 2 on a Supernait 2 and the results are amazing. Focal excels at delicate airy treble. At low listening levels they are so satisfying permeating every part of the Listening Room with they're amazing presence. I think this sy...
Audio shops near Clearwater, Florida Blue Jay Audio in Sarasota is my recommendation. Lots of great brands, helpful advice and no pressure sales. Oh, and the owner is an excellent guy. Oh wait, that's me. Anyway, my shop sells Vac, Vivid, Focal, Dynaudio, Harbeth, Scansonic, Tannoy, ...
Why are so many people trying to sell Harbeths? At first I got a pair of SHL5s which were great. But that was in my audiomania phase. I tried to supplant the SHL5s with many high end monitors from the top companies. Many came very close but they came and went and I held onto the SHL5. Then I ad...
How well respected our EAR products I'm an EAR dealer. I choose to represent them because it is gear that remains interesting indefinitely for me. As the audiophile ear wanders, falls in and out of love, it is the products that remain interesting that I consider to be a true value. ...
$10K budget. Help Yes, VAC is a short drive from me and I have been lucky enough to spend some time there learning first-hand about the craftsmanship that is involved. Simply, they are amazing. We are a "home based" dealer which means we'll be here indefinitely.
