cost of new tweeter for micro utopia be
I'd just like to add that these tweeters are amazing and the $1k price is justified in my opinion.

Well, I have added the B&W 805D, kept the Focal MBE and the Harbeth SHL5. I have about 150 hours on the 805Ds and they are opening up. Having heard very well broken in 805Ns, I feel there is a way to go before they reach their zone.
Dynaudio C1 II vs Focal Micro BE vs Harbeth SHL5
Kipikipod - The MBE tweeter is a masterpiece - I agree. How that sound can be fatiguing to someone doesn't make sense to the way I hear. As smooth as butter and lightning fast.
Dynaudio C1 II vs Focal Micro BE vs Harbeth SHL5
Harbeth is a very polarizing speaker! Mine are set up well and IMHO quite fantastic. Regarding the Harbeths being genre specific, I don't notice that. I find that they are amazing for aggressive/heavy music, folk/vocals, jazz, rock. They are diffe...
Focal Alto Utopia or Dynaudio C2 + Fathom 112
Betaiso - if you are interested in the sound signatures of Focal vs. Dynaudio, I did a comparison between the Focal Utopia Micro Be and the C1 Signature:http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?cspkr&1360980222&&&/Dynaudio-C1-II-vs-...
Accurate human voice reproduction
SHL5 is a very interesting speaker. In my room they are the most dynamic speakers I have heard. With music, they are able to pressurize my room giving me the "wall of sound." However, if I am watching a movie, I don't want to be pressurized by dia...
Signal passes through AVR
After testing, I don't notice any difference. I guess if there is no signal processing, there is no change.
Accurate human voice reproduction
IMHO, Harbeth SHL5 are magical for singing across the spectrum of genres but when I put on dialogue / NPR, I switch over to a set of Focal Micro Be in a hurry. The Harbeth sound is too intense for spoken words in my findings. I can also make a loo...
Polk Audio RT2000p or LSi 25's--- WHO CARES ???
The odd thing about the forum is i have posted topics and they have received responses although i cannot find the topics. Someone is seeing the threads. I really wish they would go to. A open forum so there would be speed, function and transparency.
Signal passes through AVR
That thought did occur to me - I'm looking for opinions on whether to expect any sort of signal degradation. I understand that splitting a signal or introducing unnecessary components into the signal path is generally a no-no in hifi but this woul...

Just curious how you can see how many hits a forum posting gets?
The issue of lowballing... What does that mean?
Most expensive items have a flexible price up to a certain extent. Car prices are not fixed, real estate prices are not fixed, luxury items are always Have a sale going on so there is a gray area which is fair game. I think we all have an internal...
Is there a perfect speaker?
As much as I appreciate all the great comments that have been posted on this thread I do not want to be the thread starter that does not contribute so here's my opinion. The thing about this hobby that totally captivates me is when a certain type ...
The issue of lowballing... What does that mean?
Well, if I was crazy enough to make an offer on these I'd have to lowball!:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-B-W-Nautilus-802-Loudspeakers-Bowers-Wilkens-Red-Cherry-/261176662199?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item3ccf5798b7

Thanks Bo1972. I'll keep the Monitor Audios on my radar. By 2D vs 3d I guess you mean the image depth. I like a nice 3D soundstage. The Focals and the Dyns both do that well in my opinion. The B&W N805 is less deep but pinpoint accurate. I lov...
