Who says cables don't make a difference?
There are none so blind as those who will not see/hear.
Putting weights on speakers?
Up date,I took 20 lbs off each speaker leaving 33 lbs on each. The bass is more complex and still tightened. Works better with less weight. The extra 20 lbs deadened the bass too much!

“Continue to beat the drum... why?” To paraphrase. It is, obviously, a controversy. The prejudice surely goes both ways. However, those who are opposed to expensive cables ignore the fact that cables are an established part of our Industry. A dire...

@kennycThank you for coming back to the subject of the OP.And, especially, for your clear enumeration of the factors that must be considered in cable design. Certainly each different type of component always has distinct and important factors that...
Record Cleaning Machines
It has been pointed out that the Keith Monk RCM is used by Better-Records and no one can question the cleanliness of their records.Their current model similar to the Better-Records one is $3750.It is not ultrasonic but must be good. Anyone know ho...
Who says cables don't make a difference?
If my fault that my OP comments about company owners and others who made/make their living on being able to hear differences between components helped to devolve this otherwise civil Forum discussion into personal mud slinging, I am sorry.Surely m...
Who says cables don't make a difference?
It seems the crux of the cable issue stems from the comparisons of the likes of zip lamp chord and high fidelity cable. If zip chord works why spend a lot of money on “snake oil”?!And why not just get some silver wire and RCAs and build your own I...

Dan2956 and speedbump6,Interesting 2 sides of the discussion both quite elaborate.I don’t feel the need to apologize for my bias toward expensive cables with a personal preference for Stealth Audio. As with ANY component, the goal is to DO NO HARM ...
Putting weights on speakers?
I now have put 53 pounds on each speaker. They are OB on the mids  and tweeters. And have a back enclosure for the woofers. So I am able to just put weight on the woofers however I notice increased clarity on all frequencies. Especially tightening ...

Hard to believe the inane rant that this thread has devolved! Can’t believe that people still think that cables don’t make a difference...

I love Grocho quotes!"Saw an elephant in my pajamas yesterday. What he was doing in my pajamas I'll never know."Specifically, having to show proof after experiencing/seeing G-d.I miswrote when I mentioned "overwhelming objective proof". I really r...

Hi millercarbon,Thanks for the thoughtful post. The original design of the Tetra 606 had exactly what you suggest with struts going from the speaker top to the bass cabinet.I admire your deep knowledge and application in your posts and, certainly, ...
Putting weights on speakers?
Just discovered a 8.75 lb vest plate at Rougefittness.comthey are sold in pairs and are black. $56 a pair. I am buying 4 pair for $225. Considering my speakers are $33k, not a big deal. So, would increase the weight from 20 lbs to 36 lbs and have ...
Putting weights on speakers?
I am using Tetra 606s. It is especially convenient that they are open baffle on the mid and tweeter and have a separate bass cabinet behind. So I am able to put the weight on the back of the speaker. Much nicer than putting weights on the top of a...
