Driven to Tears
I once heard a pair of Apogee Divas being demonstrated with Steely Dan's sweet sixteen. I don't know about tears, but, this was probably one of the best sound systems I have ever heard and it got every bit of my attention. Funny thing is, I am not...
Speaker cables for Quad 63's
You could do what QUAD do at their demonstrations. Simply use some heavy duty (14 AWG or larger) insulated copper wire, nothing fancy. I have heard the new QUADs using good old extension lead wire (the orange stuff from Home Depot etc.). They soun...
HDMI Cable Questions
Thanks "Butsy", what an eye opener! Just another confirmation of what I already know, expensive cables are an absolute waste of money
Can Pioneer Elite M-91 Amplifier be Bridged Mono?
Snap! I also have two M-91 for front and rear speakers. No, they are not bridgable. They sure look great though! I can scan the manual and email it to you if you want?
HDMI Cable Questions
Try Blue Jeans Cable (http://bluejeanscable.com). They make any custom length you want at very good prices. I use a 35' HDMI-HDMI Blue Jeans cable from my blu-ray player to a 1080p projector. The results are excellent.
Cheapest Sweetest deal you've found
Without a doubt, my lightly used Krell KSA-250 power amp purchased in Singapore for $2,000 6 years ago. Still looks like new and sounds perfect to me.

My B&W Nautilus 801s and Krell KSA-250 will be in my system for a very long time to come.

Yamaha NS-1000M
I purchased a pair new in 1980; still use them in my second system, driven by a QUAD 606-II power amp. I could not even think about parting with them now. They still look great and sound excellent. Lots of dynamic range, tight bass and crystal cle...
A brutal review of the Wilson Maxx
I don't own Wilson speakers, never have, probably never will (too expensive for my budget). However, I have heard Wilson speakers on several occasions and found the sound quality, to say nothing of construction/finish quality, to be excellent. If ...
Does anyone like vintage speakers?
Don't know if they classify as from the "Golden age of HiFi (vintage), but I have a pair of Yamaha NS1000m speakers (driven with a Quad 44/606). Now 25 years old. They still look and sound fantastic to me. My other speakers are B&W N801s (driv...
Thanks for the Help
This is a great site! No two ways about it.
Step down isolation transformer
See my previous post on this subject. I had no trouble using my US (110V) equipment in Europe for 3 years using a step-down transformer.

This is the information I got from B&W when I asked the same question:"Thank you for purchasing B&W! The midrange tension on your Nautilus 801s can be set by simply tightening the bolt to the point where there is some resistance, and addin...
