A Tribute to Peter Walker
Quad is the reason I am still passionate about HiFi after over 35 years. Peter Walker set standards most HiFi manufacturers can only aspire to. What a man, what a company, what a product! HiFi has just lost a great friend and innovator.
A personal challenge
Jeff,Fantastic! You have given a lot of people a great wake-up message. Keep up the good work and treat yourself to those new tube amps ASAP. You deserve it!
Preamp for Krell KSA 250 and Thiel 3.6?
How about the Krell HTS (original version)? This is what I use with my KSA-250 and it sounds and looks fantastic to me. Only problem is the annoying 2 second delay when switching and starting. Used, they are plentiful and inexpensive. I purchased ...

Krell --- Are the Newer designs better?
I purchased a used KSA-250 earlier this year. What a revelation, even my wife and children commented on the immediate sonic improvement. I am very happy with my KSA-250; I may even try and buy a second one for bi-amping.
Krell Kav 250A or NAD S200 for B&W 805???
I use a KSA-250 with N805s. IMHO this combination works perfectly. Staggering resolution, dynamics, sound stage etc. I have also tried my Quad 606 and Pioneer Elite M91 power amps with the N805s, no contest; the KSA-250 is a clear winner. Even my ...
HELP - B&W Naut. 805's good music speakers?
I own a pair of N801's (in storage in the USA) and N805's (in use in Paris). I have enjoyed the N805's ever since I purchased them nearly two years ago, when I moved to France for a 3 year assignment. Because of their size they are not perfect for...
Krell HTS, Lexicon MC-1 or Outlaw 950
I recently purchased a used Krell HTS on Audiogon. I am extremely pleased with it. It is very easy to set-up and use. My only criticism is the annoying 2 second delay when starting a CD/DVD or switching sources. Like all Krell products it is built...
Do exists "Global" gears-movable between Countries
I had to deal with this problem when I moved from the USA to France for a 3 year assignment. My QUAD and ReVox equipment was no problem, as all the pieces are equipped with user settable input transformers. My Pioneer Elite equipment (two M-91 pow...
Any info on Teac reel to reel cassettes?
Are you referring to the Elcaset? I think it ran at 3.5 ips.
DVD-A player with best redbook cd playback
I personally use a Pioneer Elite DV-38A and I am very happy with it, both sonically and visually. However, in all honesty I can't tell you how it compares with similarly priced DVD-A players from other manufacturers.
Review: Krell KSA-150 Amplifier
I have just had a similar experience with a Krell. Last week my family and I were on vacation in Singapore. I saw a used mint condition KSA-250 for sale at C.K. Audio, for $4,500 Singapore. After a lot of bartering we finally agreed on a sale pric...

Dealing with Voltages: 110v to 220v vice versa
I moved from the States to Paris 18 months ago, and was faced with the same problem (110V gear running on 220V). Fortunately some of my equipment (Quad and Revox) is multi-voltage, no problem there. The rest is 110V equipment, Including two 200W/c...
List Ultra Dynamic music for testing systems
I agree with Sogood51, Frankie Goes To Hollywood Two Tribes is the definitive dynamic track for me. On my B&W 801N speakers this is the ultimate dynamic, stop you dead in your tracks, song.
