How to add center channel to stereo
Accuvoice processing on thé Zvox soundbar makes a very noticeable difference to the resolution of dialog.
If bi-amping is so great, why do some high end speakers not support it?
I tried bi-amping once; B&W N801 speakers and two Pioneer Elite M91 power amps (each 2x200W). Certainly made a difference in my case; detail was more pronounced, dynamics improved and overall just sounded better. Also, two beefy power amps, wi...
2C HiFi Epiphany - Worlds Best System?
No, just the listed music/tracks. However, I am positive a symphony orchestra would sound spectacular on this system. I have heard classical music on other Magico speakers and the sound is always fantastic.
Tracks worth for a 1 Million system
The same music you use to audition any other piece of equipment. See my previous post on auditioning a $0.5 million system using regular Redbook CD:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/2c-hifi-epiphany-worlds-best-system
Krell HTS 7.1 vs Denon AVR-X4300H
I have an Oppo 105 connected to a Krell HTS 7.1 plus Krell TAS in my HT system. 5.1 audio processing is done in the Oppo, consequently the Krell HTS 7.1 is just being used as a glorified volume control. I use the same system for regular 2C stereo;...
Ever Bought an Audio Product that was Stupid Good for the Money?
Fully restored Gale GS401A speakers. To me they not only sound incredible they also look incredible. Not bad for only $1,500 including shipping from David Smith at Vintage Gale in the UK.
Has anyone considered rebuying a speaker you once owned??
Yes, Yamaha NS1000M speakers, sold them 4 years ago and regretted the decision ever since. There is just something wonderful about the sound, and look, of these Japanese masterpieces. However, I believe Yamaha will be reissuing an updated version ...

Anyone having trouble loading Web site for HDtracks.com.
Just tried getting on the site, no problems.
Use of a 110 VAC to 230 VAC Step-up Transformer for CD player.
50Hz versus 60Hz is only a problem with AC motors and stuff like Krell and Martin Logan equipment. This two manufacturers, I am sure there are others, install a frequency sensing chip in the power supply and will not allow the equipment to operate...
Cartridge repair; re-tipping; canitlever replacement: The Needle Clinic A++
Good post. This is good information for someone like me who is getting back into analog after 33 years of digital only. See my post on "Equipment Stand" for a fuller explanation of why.
Use of a 110 VAC to 230 VAC Step-up Transformer for CD player.
See my previous post on this subject. A simple step up transformer will work fine. I have had a lot of experience doing this over the years without incidents or degradation in sound quality.
Guide for understanding wire gauge and resistance
Thanks PTSS, being a European AWG makes little sense to me. Now I can easily convert to units that I understand.
