Cartridge repair; re-tipping; canitlever replacement: The Needle Clinic A++
Good post. This is good information for someone like me who is getting back into analog after 33 years of digital only. See my post on "Equipment Stand" for a fuller explanation of why.
Use of a 110 VAC to 230 VAC Step-up Transformer for CD player.
See my previous post on this subject. A simple step up transformer will work fine. I have had a lot of experience doing this over the years without incidents or degradation in sound quality.
Guide for understanding wire gauge and resistance
Thanks PTSS, being a European AWG makes little sense to me. Now I can easily convert to units that I understand.
Equipment Stand
Thank you for all the good advisee. Point noted about glass shelving, I will stay away from this option. I certainly like the look of the core Audio Design and Quadraspire products. Thanks,Marcus
Getting good sound from MacBook via DAC.
iTunes could be the problem. I use Audirvana Plus on a MacBook Air and get excellent results. See my previous post on this subject.
Which British Hi-Fi Magazine is Your Favorite of the Brits?
Been a subscriber to HiFi News & Record Review for nearly 50 years now, so I must like it. Why? Great range of product reviews from the ordinary to unbelievably expensive, extremely good show reports and record/music reviews, great editorial, ...
Wilson Audio Haters
In my experience the people who hate Wilson speakers are those who can't afford them. I personally do not own a pair of Wilson speakers. However, I do know they are tremendous, albeit lacking in visual appeal to some people. I remember being at a ...
What is best [under $200] blue ray player with all area code free?
I have an LG BD330 Blu-Ray player that works extremely well for me. It is not sold region free, however, there is a very simple hack you can do to make it region free. Alternatively, I also use an OPPO 105 that works extremely well on just about a...
What to do with audio Magazines
I collected HiFi News for over 45+ years, literally had hundreds of copies going back to 1964. Most were in official HiFi News binders. Tried to sell the collection on Audiogon and HiFi News classified. No interest from anyone. Decided to give the...
Reel to Reel tape decks
For me it was a two track, high speed (7.5/15.0 ips) Revox B77 MKII. Selling this piece of HiFi legend was the most stupid thing I have ever done. Not only did it look superb in my living room, it also solicited a lot of questions/interest, perfor...
Your first component that was "special"
Yamaha NS1000M speakers, had them for over 30 years. Sold them 2 years ago for, effectively, more than I paid for them originally. Even so, I regret selling them. Similar story with my Quad 44 pre-amp and 606 Mk2 power amp. Did not sell these for ...
Moving From USA Overseas... Looking For Advice re: Electrical Service and Gear
I used a Seven Star AR2000 transformer automatic voltage regulator  when I moved from the US to France. Worked very well for me, no issues at all. See my previous post on this subject.
Krell Service Chicago Area?
Many thanks for your suggestions gentlemen.
Pet Sounds at 50--NPR video
Does pop/rock music get any better than this? I very much doubt so.
Moving to Paris Need: Equipment & 230V @ 50Hz Advice from experts
I had the same issue when I moved from the USA to France; see my previous post on this subject. The solution was relatively simple for me. My B&W N801 speakers went into storage and I took the N805 speakers with me. Ran them from a Pioneer Eli...
