Help? Stereo for art studio, under $1k I would think the Yamaha 301 would work fine for your application. I have not heard the Pioneer floor standers (FS52) however own a pair of the bookshelf models (BS22) and find them great/$$$. I understand that the FS52s will go deeper and play lo...
newbie DAC question You could purchase the V-90 from Music Direct and the Bitfrost from Schiit and try them out. Both have return policy. Ask each vender as to their thoughts regarding the improvement over your CD player’s DAC. I would use a Coax digital cable.
Help? Stereo for art studio, under $1k There is an NAD 320BEE for sale here on AG. I would consider that for a start. The Pioneer Andrew Jones Towers retail new for $129 each. Forgot model number.I also enjoy NPR on Sunday mornings.
Audio grade USB cables Ghosthouse, thanks for the clarification. I use the Audiophellio with the Pure Power supply. I believe the PP accomplishes the same thing, isolating power from signal.
Help? Stereo for art studio, under $1k You can get a new Pioneer A-20 integrated amplifier for $270. It is the least expensive integrated I can recommend. Look into a i phone/iPad dock, i believe these are available that will take the digital signal phone/pad and convert to analog.What...

Pioneer PD-S95 cd transport Mrrross, I think you might better off with the 6005. A descent player in its own right and can be use as a transport later if you wish to use a DAC. As a new item you should get several years use from it either way. With players it is usually the ...
Replacement amp for B&K ST-2140 I see from the Sonata thread that your amp is fine. Happy Thanksgiving! If you were to move beyond you B&K separates I would be inclined to buy an Integrated at your budget. Many good ones available.
Simple question, best sounding inexpensive DAC. +1 George. If not in need of a USB DAC and my budget went beyond that of a used MF V-DAC, I would consider the non-USB Bitfrost. Or a older used DAC as there are many very good one that can now be had at inexpensive cost.
Replacement amp for B&K ST-2140 What is your budget and are you willing to purchase used? Your preamp is getting along in years, are you considering an future upgrade there?
Simple question, best sounding inexpensive DAC. Not sure what your idea of inexpensive is, but a truly inexpensive option would be a Music Fidelity V-DAC (original Black case version). The USB input is not asynchronous, however the coax input would serve you provided your Denon has coax output....
Looking for a USB Headphone amplifier Courant, thanks for your reply. I am familiar with, and had considered, the sprout. However want a stand alone amp. ZD, great idea, thanks! I should have thought of CC myself. I will give them a call.
Looking for a USB Headphone amplifier OK, after much consideration I have decided to look for a used stand alone headphone amp and use a separate DAC. My thinking is that I will get more AMP for my $$$ and greater flexibility with this approach. My budget tops out ~ $600 for the amp (...
