Considering these USB cables.
Not that i know, however the DAC within your speakers may be using the 5v power supplied with signal via USB.
Turntable / cartridge (and isolation) to match my pre-amp, speakers and room
If your local shop carries both, have your listened to them with some of your favorite LPs. Maby take your TT and compare.
A sensible CD transport?
Old thread, however Cambridge Audio make a budget ($500) transport that I understand is somewhat discounted. If looking for a transport I would consider one.
Worth fixing?
Are the repairs being done by Jolida? If so, and you are happy with the player, I would think the repair would pay off. You may want to ask them about upgrades as well.
Turn table for my kid???
Yes, thanks for the follow-up.
Please Critique my Setup and Recommend Upgrade(s)
You need to think of the speaker/amp as a combination. Given your size room there are many speakers that can be driven to very loud levels with 50wpc, however not all. Also must consider the sonic synergy between both components. I would take the ...
Helps me with long term system development.
Sounds like your dealer has several quality speaker brands to demo. I would certainly start there. Then consider upgrading the amp if you feel you need and find one that better fits your new speakers. There are several cartridges in the $300-$500 ...
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
Yes the soundstage on the NADs is one attribute I like about these amps. The harshness may more be due to the CD player not being warmed up.
This is pretty funny and probably true for most of us
Than is funny! As i am not looking to make major changes in my system I am just hoping to outlive most of it's value.
CDP recommendation for Creek Classic 5350se
If still looking for a CD spinner, why not get the Cambridge tansport to play into your DAC? Cost is less than $500.
Recommend a budget floor standing speaker less than $1,000
34dean, as one who has contributed throughout your other thread, I must agree with akg-ca. The only thing I can add is that in your price range I believe I could find a more satisfying bookshelf speaker than a floorstanding pair. Quality stands ne...
Speaker to mount in a bookcase - up to $2000 (somewhat long)
I am not one to recommend a specific speaker as that choice is most subjective and dependent on environment and system. In your case the environment becomes a much more defining factor regrading speaker performance than for many situations.  One t...
Best speakers under $500? Fire away!
I agree that the NAD 3020 can drive many reasonable sensitive (87-90dB) speakers. Many especially those above the $500 price point, will not preform at their best until driven by an amp that provides more clean power than this amp.  34dean, you mi...
Best speakers under $500? Fire away!
I agree that the 3020 will drive many reasonably sensitive  speakers (87-90dB). However many of them, especially those that are priced higher than the $500 class, best return the investment when driven by more clean power than provided by this amp...
Random question/ thoughts about stuff for sale here
Since my retirement I have renewed my interest in audio. I have bought and sold many audio components on AG, and bought on Ebay. This activity fostered development of 4 systems:  speakers, DAC, cables for my primary system in a dedicated room; all...
