Vincent SV-500 Hybrid Integrated Amp
Not familiar with the SV-500. However had a SV-226 (100wpc 8 ohm, 200wpc 4 ohm) hybrid and wish I never sold it. Great sounding amp, dynamic, smooth treble, great soundstage.
Jumpers for Integrated Amps: What are you guys using?
I understand, that should a integrated have pre out and amp in connected by a jumper, it doesn't make a difference regarding replacing the jumper with a short interconnect (do believe 'short' to be a greater operative with a passive though). I was...
Specific Pre-Amp advice
Must agree it is easier to buy than to sale, kinda like house shopping these days. Best to know what you truly want prior to purchase. Good luck in your search.
Specific Pre-Amp advice
Darkstar1, I understood, and did not mean to sound like I was 'talking down' as I believe you have rolled more equipment through your system(s) than I. I was only supporting a active tube pre route over a passive pre one for obtaining your goals.
Too Much Power?
One need not worry about too much power, however can purchase too much power.
Jumpers for Integrated Amps: What are you guys using?
Sfall, I am confused, OP states his has pre out/ main in jumpers.  Are you saying the pre is passive?
Specific Pre-Amp advice
If it were me, and i were wanting to improve on the same qualities you stated in your OP, and knowing that your speakers tend somewhat to the warm side, I would be looking for a newer all tube active preamp know to be neutral (as in not the classi...
I have now listened to my restored, recapped and serviced NAD 3020 and..........
Glad to hear that you are happy with your 'new' amp!
Jumpers for Integrated Amps: What are you guys using?
I agree with yogi, the PBJs should be fine, especially at 5".  I use a 0.5 meter pair of Audioquest Diamondbacks on my NAD integrated.I keep looking for a shorter pair of quality interconnects to use just to 'clean up' the backside of integrated h...
getting into vinyl
While saving for the right TT, spend some time researching pnonostages regarding the amount of gain provided and cartridge loading parameters. Systems differ in the gain provided post cartridge and phonostage and cartridges vary in gain provided a...
Looking for an inexpensive Blue ray player
Well, I just purchased a new Yamaha BD-S681 from a certified dealer via Ebay. Paid $270 for it shipped. After receiving and putting it into play I will get back to everyone as to what I think. Thanks for your help!
Looking for an inexpensive Blue ray player
The two new players on my list are the Sony UHPH1 and the Yamaha BD-S681. I am also looking at some used machines on Ebay. Several Pioneer Elite models available there.
Looking for an inexpensive Blue ray player
Thanks all!Samac, The Sony seems like it would be a good fit. Has good customer reviews. Was not really looking to buy used however a used Oppo, Marantz, Sony ES, or Pioneer Elite might be considered at the right price.
Budget Upgrade for 2.1 bookshelf system
I was also concerned about he power capability of the D3020. The Decco65 seems like a good buy. How is the reliability on that unit?
after a sale , how long am I obligated to fullfill the deal if not paid?
I thought it was 2 days after agreement to buy.
