I am of the belief that there has never been a better time to be in the market for a high fidelity system than now, regardless of budget. Much of this due to those who pushed the high end envelope while offering 'affordable' products.
Pathos Classic One MKiII vs. my separates
Thanks dill! Your input is truly appreciated. Based on online research conducted I thought this might be a good integrated as a replacement.
Vibration control inside a cabinet
If it were me I would use a maple platform with cones to transmit vibration from equipment and use dampeners between platform and cabinet shelf to prevent cabinet/floor vibration from entering equipment.
Gungnir sound before and after multi-bit upgrade?
Can the MB upgrade be done by the owner of a Bifrost?
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
I am using a Schiit Bifrost with Uber output stage and a M2Tech USB/SPDIF converter with my 356BEE and very happy with this.

I am very happy with this BDP.  I continue to use the analog output straight to a Cambridge Audio 550 amp driving Dali Zensor 1s. Far better than the cheap players, and commensurate with the rest of system.  There are few players that bridge the p...
Dac level to replace NAD C542
In this case I would look for a CDP that has access to it's internal DAC. Such as the NAD C565BEE or Cambridge 851C as recommended by willland.

A used pair of Dali Zensor 3s came up today on AG. I think priced somewhat high however offers can be made.

I heard the Kudos C2s driven by a Mystere (sp?) tube integrated amp, a 35 wpc amp I believe. That combination sounded wonderful to me.
Integrated Amplifier for the PSB Synchrony One B (bookshelf)
I am with audiotroy. Another question, does he now use an NAD, what model?
Considering these USB cables.
Not that i know, however the DAC within your speakers may be using the 5v power supplied with signal via USB.
Turntable / cartridge (and isolation) to match my pre-amp, speakers and room
If your local shop carries both, have your listened to them with some of your favorite LPs. Maby take your TT and compare.
A sensible CD transport?
Old thread, however Cambridge Audio make a budget ($500) transport that I understand is somewhat discounted. If looking for a transport I would consider one.
Worth fixing?
Are the repairs being done by Jolida? If so, and you are happy with the player, I would think the repair would pay off. You may want to ask them about upgrades as well.
Turn table for my kid???
Yes, thanks for the follow-up.
