| 4 ohm speaker to 8 ohm reciver You should look up the wpc on the Arcam for a 4 ohm load vs. the 8 ohm rating. Should be 1.5x, better if 2x. Also look up the impedance for your speakers across the frequency range. Hopfully impedance doesn't drop below 3ohms amywhere. Otherwise, ... | |
| Recommendations I would search for a pair of monitor type speakers. Keep an eye-out for used pairs for sale here on AG. Research ones that capture your interest. Used monitors can be resold at little to no loss. | |
| Adcom? Jim, I bet the Audible illusions with the Adcom amp was a great pairing. The pre likely smoothed out some of the grain in the high end of the amp. | |

| Trying to bridge a gap between my amp and speakers I use the Jolida Fusion to drive a BEL 1001 MK5. The Fusion is a very good pre for the money in the sub $1500 range purchasing new. There are others, Quicksilver, Linear Tube Audio MZ2 as two examples. Buying used opens up other options. | |
