Has Anyone Auditioned an LKS MH-DA004 DAC?
Since I am the OP, perhaps it's time for me to offer my long term impressions of this DAC. I have not been a digital guy and have not compared it to other fine DACs. But recently on another forum I was asked about strengths and weaknesses of the...
Most accurate way to adjust for correct vta on vpi classic 1
Find a recording that people say is good for hearing the differences when you adjust SRA. Do a search here and elsewhere; there are a lot of suggestions out there. If you can’t find one, take a record of a female singer, recorded without effects, ...
Uptone Audii ISO REGEN and Aesthetix Romulus DAC/CD Player
Well for $1750 (including master clock and PS) it should.  But 6moons, for example, reports it improves one system more than others, another system improved just a bit and a third system performed better without it.  Other reviews may have differe...
Uptone Audii ISO REGEN and Aesthetix Romulus DAC/CD Player
I use a set-up much like your own, playing CD and SACD rips and some high resolution downloads stored on a hard disk and played through a lap-top into a DAC. That being said my advice is that there's really no telling how any of these little boxes...
Has Anyone Auditioned an LKS MH-DA004 DAC?
Just to have everything in one place, the LKS costs about 1/3 the cost of the Denafrips, and 1/7 the cost of the DAVE.
Has Anyone Auditioned an LKS MH-DA004 DAC?
@torinfI’m the OP and I like this DAC a lot, but you sound like a shill. You’ve sent your overly long post, in exactly the same form, to a number of different forums. It looks as though you have and agenda and a product to push and a seller to get...

DSD converted to PCM vs Original PCM
I don't think the Oppo 105 (or even later) will do that either. The 105 manual says:Input: USB Audio: up to 2ch/192kHz PCM. Coaxial/Optical Audio: up to 2ch/96kHz PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS, AAC. That’s one of the reasons I added a separate DAC to my ...
How can I tell if I need a better clock for my DAC?
@cheeg,Installing a better clock in your CXU would likely be cost prohibitive. Also, there's no telling if the rest of the CXU circuitry would reveal what a new clock would offer.  If you want better digital performance then you get from the CXU, ...
Delta Sigma DACs
Can a Delta-Sigma DAC translate both DSD and PCM streams to analog? The answer is definitely YES.I would view with appropriate suspicion the views of those who assert that modern delta sigma chips are inherently inferior, even as applied to PCM. ...
Advice on "Re-Clocker" for My USB Port to my DACs
Here’s another shoot-out comparison of several different and different types of units to use between computer USB and a DAC.https://www.computeraudiophile.com/forums/topic/30593-group-test-usb-gadgets-aq-jitterbug-uptone-reg...I use an Intona indu...
How can I tell if I need a better clock for my DAC?
My DAC is an LKS MH-DA004. There’s a thread about this DAC on this forum. Owning a Chinese DAC is a bit of an adventure, but worth it IMO. I believe there are other Chinese DACs out there for less money that also offer extraordinary value. It’s de...
How can I tell if I need a better clock for my DAC?
By my standards, the Cambridge is a fairly expensive (and well-reviewed) unit, but the sound it gives to a Redbook CD doesn’t compete with that of my more modest phono (Technics SL-D2 with a Nagoka MP-110). Can I expect to get comparable sound qu...
How can I tell if I need a better clock for my DAC?
Here is a video I often recommend with a simple explanation of what can go wrong with a digital signal fed into a DAC. It includes the topic of jitter. While discussing the signal passing into the DAC, its principles can also apply to the signal w...
How can I tell if I need a better clock for my DAC?
The issue posed by the OP was about a better clock.  So my response was about clocks. At the current state of the art, a femtoclock, while not a sufficient condition is IMO a necessary condition to the best possible SQ.Also, generally speaking, if ...
