Mods for DYNA ST-70, What do you think?? If you do nothing else get rid of the selineum rectifier. Replace it with a diode. These things blow up and take other stuff with them and when(not if) they blow they emitt a toxic cloud into your room!
Whats the deal with CD players? It may be that you are not letting the new player warm up long enough. I find that some CD players take extended warm up periods to achive their best sound. Mine will take 3-4 hours of being turned on before it sounds right.
I need to do this, please help Call the guys at ASC, they are VERY helpful and can make good suggestions for you.
subwoofer setup problem Sugarbrie, should I assume from what you are saying that the REL uses a steep slope so that there is not much output above the x point? Hum?
subwoofer setup problem Scott, is that the case when the main speakers are not rolled off? That was my idea as well but I have no experience with subs that are not really bi-amped with some sort of slope on the main speakers.
Is anyone in vinyl land familiar with ADC tonearms What Sean is saying is that the same springs that work on a Yugo, won't work on a Cadillac!
Am I the only one who thinks B&W is mid-fi? Mikez, I guess I have not heard them(B&W) in a long time! They were never like that years ago, if anything they were sort of laid back, not so much as some Britt speakers but not JBL's. There is more to a good speaker than just flat response th...
subwoofer setup problem Greg,You would do better to try setting it higher than 35Hz before you change subs or cross overs. Try moving things around a bit as well. Sounds to me like you would have a huge hole or suckout instead of an overlap the way you have it set up. My...
Is anyone in vinyl land familiar with ADC tonearms My Question is, are there any very high compliance cartridges out there any more? I am suprised that the Grado works in this arm, as they usually put alot of energy back into an arm without enough mass and tend to go nuts. I remember the days when...
Can you help or do I have to get divorced? This thread is very sad! This is like going on "The Man Show" and asking Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel.

Best preamp for Audio Research VT100mkI Demar, the Audio Research LS 9 ans LS 3 are both Solid state units and within you range, Some of the other units mentioned are hybred designs that don't use many tubes, the LS 1 only uses one 6922. If you are interested in phono at all the SP 9III...
Can you help or do I have to get divorced? My advice is to buy some big plywood Klipsch corner horns. That should take care of your problem! And once the problem is gone you can sell those crappy sounding ugly as sin speakers and buy anything you like!
Best preamp for Audio Research VT100mkI Any Audio Research unit in your price range should mate very well.IF I remember the mk1 does have both se and bal inputs?
Anyone "heard" these Wilson & Levinson Products? The Levinson toaster is OK for bagels and frozen waffles, but I prefer cooking a slab of steak over the open flame of a nice big Melos mono amp! |
