Anyone remember speakers by Kindel Audio? Will, you the only one out there? That's a shame. I guess that's why Bill went to work for a bigger speaker co. and closed shop.
best way to figure out vta on tonearm Bob, Please let us know what you think of the test disc once you get a chance to try it. I am very curious about the VTA tracks. I used to work in a "high end" store that insisted every table was set up with Shure test records and an Oscope. It wa...
Speaker Cable for Interconnect I was not sure and Sean may be correct, the only pair of PBJ I have around are in a system I put together for my Wife and have a stupid DIN plug on one end to hook up a "normal RCA" CD player to an old Naim Nate.(NAD cd,Nate,Rogers Ls35a)I don't w...
Speaker suggestions wanted Resuviator, the Thiels may not be the problem? I used to sell them and(the older ones anyway) they really need electronics and a front end that can convey the emotive qualitys you felt they were lacking(most cd palyers sound unenvolving to me). Al...
Best all-around cartridge for 500.00 new Thanks Sean,I did. Have you listened to the latest version of the Shure, as I NEVER thought I would use one of their cartridges. The V15III was popular but you would never have caught me dead with one in my table as the sound was very middle of th...
Speaker Cable for Interconnect The third conductor in PBJ is a drain(sort of a shield wire) wire which is connected only at the source end to the "ground" side or the RCA. I hope someone will correct me if this is wrong.
Speaker suggestions wanted Piezo is right, some speakers are designed to be used close to the wall or right against it(the old Snell type A was one). Most floorstanding speakers I know much about don't like it but I have not begun to hear them all or pretend to know what so...
Reducing background fizz and pops on Vinyl. Matrix, sorry to be so sarcastic. If I knew of one I would not need the $600 record cleaning machine I bought 20 years ago.I can't imagine playing records without it. If you only have a small collection it is hard to justify the cost of the machine...
Speaker suggestions wanted You might be better off going with a monitor/sub set up if the speakers need to be that close to the wall, something that you can sit close to(nearfield) without loosing focus. Sitting aganst the back wall won't sound too good so keep your chair o...
Reducing background fizz and pops on Vinyl. Matrix, $100 is about what 4 records cost now, and there is enough Disc Dr. treatment to clean alot of records, if you use it all up quickly you will have enough experience then be able to get a job washing dishes in a diner, so you can pay for it...
best way to figure out vta on tonearm Yes. I guess that is sort of a short answer. Start by Just moveing it up and down. It takes a while and sometimes you may go way to far one way or the other you can always start over. I usually find that if the bass is mushy or muddy it is too low...
Speaker Cable for Interconnect The Kimber PBJ is the same basic seperate conductors as the 4TC,$TC just has more of them and perhaps slightly larger gauge. You will just have to be careful with which conductors you select as you drain wires since you don't have three different ... |
