Recommendations for really well-recorded music for high-end audio system demo Tom Petty Shadow People. Opening is mellow and open, breakdown in middle with great cymbals, bell like sounds, very subtle parts that are lost on lesser systems. Then it breaks into a full rock sound with crunchy guitar and drums. Great reverb ...
Are your speakers losing air? I have vintage 12" 3 way JBLs for LCR. Each has volume controls for midrange and tweeter. I set them by ear and then run Audyssey. The end result is very clear and powerful sounding dialogue. Larger speakers push more air farther into the room.
All Hail the meek --yet mighty – NODE 2i I agree. I'm in the camp that sees digital data as very robust. Buffering and error correction results in the data stream transmitting an exact copy of the original file that gets sent to my DAC. Only in analog is the transmission of audio subject...
why expensive streamers Jitter WAS an issue in early digital audio that has been solved. It was primarily an issue with digital recordings where things have to happen in real time. In reproduction, buffering allows the time for error correction. Any serious manufacturer ...
Very faint hiss from tweeter FWIW, I have an A23+ with an LTA tube preamp, a Schiit Bitfrost 2/64, and a Schiit Kara. The LTA runs through the Kara in passive mode, or I use the Kara for SS. A basic Furman surge protector and no other exotic cables. When I put my ear up to ...

Subwoofer Suggestions No love for SVS here? I'm also looking at the same choices and it looked promising. Is there an issue with them?
Powered Minimus 7 substitute I've seen that designation but not sure which version it is. It might be worth checking out but I haven’t heard that one. I heard the original when it first came out and was really impressed. Check reviews.
Bob Weir: "George Jones is my favorite musician." Another great resource is WMOT Roots Radio. There's a whole new generation of artists influenced by the older greats and creating some wonderful new music. It's an eclectic mix of old and new, about 50/50. I've discovered new artists and new music...
Bob Weir: "George Jones is my favorite musician." Let's not forget Buddy and Julie! It was their harmonies on Rock, Salt, and Nails that first caught my ear. Their harmony techniques are sometimes like each singing a different lead melody that just happen work together.
Powered Minimus 7 substitute The original Dynaudio BM 5 sounds great. The Mark II and III not as much. I think it's still available new. I've seen used for $250
Bob Weir: "George Jones is my favorite musician." My first musical obsession was hearing "The Everly Brothers Best" at 7 years old. I still love it. I think it created my lifelong love of vocal harmonies. I Stopped Loving Her Today has to be one of the best records ever. Strings and all.
High Pass Filter for Mains @mitch2 What is the crossover point on yours? I need 80hz. Do you want to sell it? I ordered one today but it's four weeks out so I can still change my plans. |
