Anyone have experience with using de-esser for sibilance in home audio system? If you decide to try a De-Esser, this is well regarded. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DeEsserMk2--spl-de-esser-mk2
Anyone have experience with using de-esser for sibilance in home audio system? I found tweeters just above ears helps the most. That may be related to my driver layout so I would experiment. Does the sibilance change when you change your listening position? That’s one test.
Anyone have experience with using de-esser for sibilance in home audio system? It is generally around 7-8k. I’ve found that speaker height and toe in can make a difference. My speakers have level control of mids and highs, and using a calibrated mic and RTA to voice them differently helps a lot. I can reduce that 7-8k range ...

Class D, "Control (Variable Gain)," Amplifier versus Class A/B Separates? @decooney I was really turned off by Schiits demeanor but I held my nose and purchased anyway. Old phones as streaming sources I started out with a 6s and a Schiit Modi 3+ a few years ago. It was very listenable but not impressive. On the rare occasions I listen to music on my HT system, I sent it to a Chromecast plugged into the HT receiver. Also just listenable. But on...
Analyzing DACs It seems like the general issue here is gain structure. Each component operates in a certain range and all components should operate most efficiently within that range. That’s a big part of synergy. How that gain is achieved differentiates quality.

Class D, "Control (Variable Gain)," Amplifier versus Class A/B Separates? I have the Schitt Kara. It's quite neutral and quiet. Having a passive mode is a big plus as I can use it as a remote volume control for pieces that don't have one. It's audio functionality is excellent. However, there are two issues that are ann... |
