Supratek Syrah
I don't know if it's the same input layout as the Cortese. But I'll share how mine is laid out.On my Cortese, look at the preamp from the rear, the far left - say 10 position is the phono input which is the furthest set of RCAs on the left. From t...
Reccomend a good preamp for me.
I'm a little puzzled when new threads on this topic come up, as it seems to me that it's been discussed at length. Of course, I'm biased. I own a Supratek. Here's a suggestion - go up to the top of this amps - preamps forum and click on the tab for...

@marsrecords Please see my message to you on this topic. I'm interested.
Power regenerator vs conditioner
I use a goal zero yeti 1250 lead acid battery generator. It generates a perfect sine wave of power and significantly reduces the noise floor. Before I tried it I didn't think I had any noise in my Power. It weighs 100 lbs.

Supratek Owners Thread
I had a hum and found that fussing with the way my cables were routed resolved it.
Supratek Owners Thread
Hey, fellow Supratek owners. Got a request for you, and I think it’s relevant for those who might be considering Supratek. Here’s the ask: Please share what other preamps you owned or considered when choosing Supratek. My only personal comparison ...
re-tipping Dynavector17D?
Shooflyshoo,Your cartridge's main value is as a trade in to DV when you buy another of their cartridges. It is not trash.
Dynavector Karat 17D3: retip for $500 or get something new?
I can say from personal experience that Sound Smith will not re-tip the 17D3. Dynavector is the only place to send it/ swap it.
300Bs - does leaving them on shorten their life?
My 300B SET amp has a standby function that allows me to warm the tubes up gradually. I think when they are in standby, at what is essentially a very low idle, it's not using up any or very much life of the tube. This is why, if I have another cus...
Dynavector Karat 17D3: retip for $500 or get something new?
I’m not trying to pick a fight here but the comment above that the cartridge is bright or bass light is exactly what I would expect to hear if the VTA was off. I also thought it was bass light until I dialed it in. Now it is deep, thunderous, tune...
Dynavector Karat 17D3: retip for $500 or get something new?
Couple thoughts.  1. I am a long - term 17D3 Karat ownerAnd before this model came out I used the earlier versions in this line. It is a fabulous cartridge.  I am assuming your re-tip will be done by Dynavector. I have recently watched a video som...

Solid Stage vs Tube amp
@itsotor I commend to your attention a white paper titled something like "solid state vs. tubes". It is available on the sanders sound systems website. Roger Sanders explains in easy to understand language a key factor in why tubes sound different...
