Does this amp have a problem or is it OK to buy? Hum is bad. Stay away.Best case, it's possible a ground loop issue or something along that line in the current setup that might vanish in yours, but unless that could be determined for certain up front, I would look elsewhere.Worst case is damaged...
using a sub with full range versus or monitors ? Use the sub's internal x-over and run amp - sub - speakers.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? "My Magnepan with subs are maybe a bit more used as an analytical tool"I tend to think the same way about the Dynaudio monitors that I also use. When one is exposed to more typical stereo "hifi" type sound normally all ones life, it can be hard to...
using a sub with full range versus or monitors ? There can be benefit with more full range speakers but it depends on the response of the speakers in your room/listening environment and the ability to blend the woofer in a manner that fills in the missing low end without producing excess output ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Phaelon.BEautiful! I can see where that would work quite well in that size room, especially with the wood floors, which I have always found to be somewhat problematic acoustically including with OHM Walshes, especially the bottom ported CLS models...

Why does better power = better sound? Good basic point Al.A solution that truly cleans or smooths out the power supply in regards to AC frequency but also in conjunction limits basic power parameters like voltage and current may be of marginal benefit or perhaps even be detrimental in...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Phaelon,I'm not familiar with the 14" stands.Does that elevate the driver 14" higher than just the F cabinets alone? My 5s are in OHM refurbed and tweaked (now ported similar to other CLS models) F cabinets. I find this a good height for listening ...
Pink Floyd The Wall--Which vinyl? I'm still biased towards the original US vinyl release copy from 1978 in that it was one of the finest pop/rock recordings of its time though admittedly I have not heard many other vinyl versions. The original US CD master I have is not bad but a ...

Bel Canto REF1000M vs. Simaudio Moon 400M Audiozen, for whatever reason i am not hearing what you relate having heard with the class ds in my system for whatever reason. My conclusions are a lot more positive than yours. Class a/b andclass d are radically different technologies. Hard to b...
Bel Canto REF1000M vs. Simaudio Moon 400M "Now Sim has achieved the problems with class A/AB amps where a class D amp is no longer necessary, and no class D amp will ever equal the superior musicality of a class A or A/AB amp."Have you compared?Sounds like your mind is made up.I'm not cer...
Ever heard of, any opinions on, these speakers? Not famiiar with those specifically. Tall towers with wide spaced drivers tend to work best in larger rooms with some distance to listening position for the drivers to integrate coherently.
Tubes vs Solid State Take a look at the new Rogue tube Class D hybrid amps with the B&Ws.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Moon,No ill effects from the wide range driver that i am aware of. I believe the Walsh driver confguration has a lot to do with its effectiveness from top to bottom, a fairly unique capability of Walsh drivers i would say. |
