Adding Tone Controls?
Bama,HArd to say without hearing, but my gut tells me that there may still some system level tweaking along the lines folks have suggested possible to get the best general performance possible out of you setup. If it were me, I would exhaust all t...
Amplifiers:A Keeper for Life. Do you know of one ?
I feel like my BelCanto ref1000ms could be based on their outstanding performance yet I know Class D amp technology is still relatively young and will likely continue to improve over time (more so than other older more established amp technologies...
Adding Tone Controls?
Also the no cost toe in/out idea mentioned above is always a worthwhile thing to try before changing anything.
Adding Tone Controls?
You might be a good candidate to try a decent power conditioner on your source gear and/or pre-amp as a first step. Probably can't hurt and only help.I am not familiar with your digital source gear but assuming that is solid IC changes for a tweak...
What's your favorite lyric from a song?
"Did you ever have to make up your mind? You pick up on one and leave the other one behind It's not often easy and not often kind Did you ever have to make up your mind?"
Is it too much to ask....
"They (specs/numbers) may be of some use when trying to integrate a system though, matching impedences and efficiency requirements, etc."Exactly! That's why some numbers are important! A seller that knows which ones matter most impresses me and es...
JBL lovers
Dayglow, Check out the latest OHM Walsh speakers on teh OHM Acoustics website. The older Walsh 2s were OK but much flawed in comparison.I sold both OHM and JBL box designs back in the late 70's. ALways preferred the OHMs. Better value and cleaner ...
Ohm Acoustics Walsh F-5015 speakers
Spacer,If possible, I would love to see some photos of the 5015s, including cans, hoods, layout of controls, etc. Maybe a quick system post with some pics? Might be hard to photo the bottoms where the subs would be visible as I understand it, though.
Is it too much to ask....
"My question to RW is... who is lazier? The seller who does not post specs on his product, or the buyer who is not interested enough to look up the specs on his own? "They are both lazy IMHO.The two are not mutually exclusive.A url reference that ...
Is it too much to ask....
No, its not too much to ask at all for a seller to regurgitate the key vendor specs that people base buying decisions on, like power rating, in the case of an amp to make life easier for the buyer. Its the smart thing to do IMHO.You know what happ...
Ohm Acoustics Walsh F-5015 speakers
"I'll hazard a guess those fine Walsh drivers won't be appreciated too much longer."The cabinets will likely get recycled with newer drivers for some future buyer looking to save some money compared to new cabinets. I am a fan of those older pyram...
Ohm Acoustics Walsh F-5015 speakers
Spacer,That's quite a setup, even for a sizable room! I think OHM is mostly interested in the cabinets for restore and future sale. You might be able to keep the F drivers if desired. Worth checking perhaps.

Spacer, what is the rest of your system? Thx + happy turkeyday!
Office partitions as sound panels
"Mapman, I wonder if placing 2" panels on opposite walls works the same way as 4" panels on one wall? It should."I don't think so in that these are for controlling flutter echo and slap back, which are artifacts of more directional higher frequenc...
Office partitions as sound panels
Kr4,Sounds right essentially. The product literature claims high and mid frequency effects. The bass trap panels they sell (currently showing huge discount on amazon) appear similar but 3" thick, which makes sense.
