Ohm Acoustics Walsh F-5015 speakers Spacer, btw, if you set up a virtual site so we can see the pics, you can always delete it later at any time if desired. Or keep it and build it out over time if desired.LOoking forward to seeing those f5015s in all their glory......
Setting up wireless digital music server "The spec says iPhone, iPod, and iPhone can work as a remote control."BEing able to use a remote controller like this or even just a PC browser is a key feature for me. That provides the most remote control flexibility and also the most flexibilit...
Big, big room -- which 10-20k speakers? I'd say pick up a pair of old OHM Walsh 5s somewhere for <$1000 and give those a shot first before spending big bucks. You'd have little to loose and much to save/gain even if they do not cut it. They can be resold easily with little or no loss...
Big, big room -- which 10-20k speakers? OHM F 5015's with 15" powered subs built in for ~$10,000 (if available currently) can fill that room as good as just about anything dsigned for home use, I would bet. The powered subs would take a lot of load off the main Luxman amp and could work...
Are all external hard drives the same? RAID technology in a single storage device provides storage redundancy to provide high or constant availability in teh case of certain hardware failures. Its good stuff but not a good fit for most home users IMHO. Having a physical backup drive is...
Dave Brubeck passes HE seemed to live a long, rich and productive life and had many fans. We should all be so fortunate!
Setting up wireless digital music server I wonder now if the trend will be that the mainstream audio vendors like Marantz and others (including specialty digital high end vendors) will be the ones that provide the digital source player components for home hi fi down the road that replace...
Setting up wireless digital music server I was in a shop the other day and saw that Marantz now has a networked player component of some sort. Have not had a chance to investigate the details though. That shop also sells Sonos stuff.
Ohm Acoustics Walsh F-5015 speakers The only way on Audiogon I know of is to create a virtual system and post them there.
Big, big room -- which 10-20k speakers? A big room like that is likely one that you want to leverage, and not fight, unless you are up for major sound treatment expense. Omnidirectional speakers lend themselves to that with their tendency to fill a room with sound rather than fire it di...
Your jaw dropping cables My jaw drops when I see the asking price for some cables.o-o\_/I get a smile on my face when I listen to my gear with the DNM Reson ICs.
Magnepan durability Also, with Maggies, definitely be sure they cannot be knocked over in that they have some weight and there might be potential to injure a playful toddler if that occurs, which is even worse than any potential equipment damage that might also occur...
Magnepan durability If you like the Vandy's, I'd stay put with newer, bigger better ones. Magnepans can be toppled easily as mentioned plus are likley to be damaged if that occurs. Plus I would expect a different sound with Maggies, so be sure that is what you want i...
Are all external hard drives the same? Whoops, I meant Tb, not Gb above.Sorry.
Are all external hard drives the same? Reliability is the thing I would worry about the most.I've run the Seagate 1.5 and 2 Gb USB drives from BEst Buy for a few years now and have found them to be most reliable and essentially trouble free. They also come with backup software installe... |
