Review: Ohm Acoustics Walsh 3/3000 Speaker Schubert,YEs, I recall sound of older KEFs before their Uni-Q driver based technology hit. Had a very small pair of KEF monitors once. I did not really have the rest of teh system at teh time to do them justice most likely. Sound was most laid bac...
Review: Ohm Acoustics Walsh 3/3000 Speaker Seik,ls50 uses 5.25" bass driver I read. Similar size to my Triangle Titus XS from the late 90's. Smaller than my Dynaudio Contour mkIIs which have >6.5" bass driver. Dyns have a much bigger sound, closer to OHM 100 series 3, but not as extende...
Review: Ohm Acoustics Walsh 3/3000 Speaker I have some tentative plans to do some listening and comparisons between KEF ls50 and OHMs on my system probably sometime in September. Looking forward to it. Will be able to say more about KEF versus OHM after actually hearing some newer highly r...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Good point by Tobe. Not usually a good idea to plug high power amplifiers into anything other than the wall outlet. External power conditioners usually become a bottleneck for optimal amp performance in that they cannot deliver the power and curre...
Amp with best bass control Bel Canto is located in Minnesota USA I believe. Good value ergonomic products and good customer service I have found as well. ref1000m specifically is based on Icepower Class D amp modules made by Bang and Olefson (Danish).
Does Avalon speakers have a house sound? I do recall noting what seemed to be very good coherence with the Avalons when I heard them.
What mid priced receiver sounds best? Tandberg tr2080 if you can find one still in good working order. Most NADs are a good choice as well.
Does Avalon speakers have a house sound? I've heard Avalons and felt they did have a "unique" sound that was quite revealing in the upper midrange. The sound interested me but I did not have time for extended auditions that would be needed to make any kind of meaningful determination reg...
Boulder has full page ad in Du-pont registry Good place for that company to advertise to get their products in front of more prospective customers that their products might appeal to and can afford as well.
Amp with best bass control BEl Canto ref1000m amps I use currently are as good or better than most anything else I have heard in regards to "bass control". High damping factor of 1000 with these is most likely a factor regarding why.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Also should point out that break in time may be needed with many Class D amps from what I read, so might be wise to get through that first before changing opr addressing anything else. My Class D amps were acquired used and I did not find they cha...
D-SONIC SOA Class-D Core Amps. The best Class-D ? Have not rad article yet, but would love a compare of newer D-Sonics versus other more pricey newer Class D technology as well as against the current old guard of Icepower, etc.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Coot,Keep in mind that the new amp is likely revealing or relating what is fed into it differently than before. If "digital edginess" is heard, I'd say it is quite possible that changes to input might address that. My Class D Bel Cantos are very r...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? The easy classical pick for me is The Nutcracker on MLP. Its included in teh first MLP box set from a couple years back as well.
Favorite lp of all time "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" just because it was a double which is better than a single, right? |
