LOUSY SOUND AT LIVE CONCERTS
"But, as you said, you were in the sweet spot--what about the other thousands who were not?"Don't know. Surely not as good. That's why I was so happy to be able to target and get the sweet spot, 1 section back dead center at ground level. :^)The s...
Goodbye Sonos, hello ????
Don't mean to hijack the thread. Willie, I can contact you via agon email to take this offline. I'd really like to crack the Itunes/Ipod/.wav nut already if possible.
Goodbye Sonos, hello ????
"WAV does not contain metedata so when you import tracks it puts them into the "Unknown Artist" folder and within that the "Unknown Album" folder - told you it had some warts."Are/can the imported files be converted to mp3? My kids have Ipod/Iphon...
Goodbye Sonos, hello ????
Apple should really get on the ball and enable easy import of .wav from common sources like Windows MEdia Player to Itunes. Not sure why they have not. It would seem to be to their advantage to do so and it is technically feasible, aat least for c...
Goodbye Sonos, hello ????
Actually, my .wav files do contain some metadata put there when ripped via Windows Media Player. Problem is that it is not truly standardized metadata tags, so its not always as usable as say FLAC, depending on system. ITs worked to date though wi...
Equipment does not match
Actually, that looks to be a pretty well matched system that should perform quite well. The Rotel amp would seem to be a pretty good match for the speakers. The ARC tube preamp woudl also seem to be a good pairing. WHat is the input impedance of th...
Does it bother you?
One thing I notice is that a lot of world music CDs I hear produced outside the US has surprisingly good sound quality. I've heard some recent reggae compilations that I would have to assume were produced in Jaimaica that will knock your socks off...

IF the converted files could be retagged as needed in real time as well as part of the itunes load/ipod synch, that would be really nice. I do not expect that Itunes will be able to convert the .wav metadata, but hey, I'll wish for that too if it ...
Goodbye Sonos, hello ????
Willie, I have a large lossless .wav music server file library. Do you know an easy way to get itunes to pick the .wav files up and auto convert files to compressed format for synching with an Ipod? Can Itunes do the conversion needed on teh fly a...

GEoff, maybe. We'll find out when you actually present some real scientific evidence of anything having to do with sound quality and I then fortify my position without considering the evidence. Otherwise, I will reserve my right to express my opini...
"this is the product Ohm puts out"
With the money many invest in this stuff these days, and with the level of competition out there, customer service IS the big difference maker IMHO. JS gets that and always seems willing to do what it takes to make things right. That and a good, u...
Does it bother you?
"there is no competition to make sonically superior music so there is no reason to spend any money doing it."That is an excellent point!Fact is most get much better sound quality overall these days via even portable devices and headphones than eve...

Tbooe,That does not surprise me at all, though I have never tried SPDIF direct from a general purpose computer. Better to keep noisy computer physically and electronically isolated from music making components as much as possible for best results....
CD Tweeks...Improve Ripped SQ?
Rodge,Sound from ripped files can be top notch if done well. If you want to contact me by agon email to discuss options, I'd be more than happy to try to help. I am not a vendor and have nothing to sell.

Bits are never just bits alone. A bit is an abstract concept with a binary state. Bits do not really exist at all in the physical world (point one out to me somewhere). The binary state has to be physically represented somehow, electronically, opt...
