Need some suggestions for a new audio rack
See my system pics. The solid OAK coffee table that I have my gear on cost me $30 at a used furniture shop down south a number of years back and nothing could work any better, if something like that fits you.
RMAF 2014 Observations
Check out Cathedral Speakers for something somewhat similar in concept to Burwell and Sons for about 1/10th the cost. I've heard them at CAF in recent years and liked them very much.
Why do digital cables sound different?
"Does it follow that some digital cables are better at delivering digital signals free of or with less added jitter?"I cannot speak for K. but clearly there are always differences between two products. The question is more how much these matter in...

Is it reasonable to expect a system to sound good just because they use a certain kind or wires? Even 6 digit ones?Still, I would expect good quality sound out of any 5 digit system or higher even though each will have their preferences. Otherwise...

Thanks for taking the time to post your detailed impressions. IF any others have the time I'm sure there are many like me who would like to know what the average Joe thought about stuff at this show. The Lansch speakers are way out of my league bud...
Pre + Amplifier Recommendation
Adding a powered sub or two might be the most practical ticket you need to get more out of what you already have.
Is high-end audio dying, if not dead already???
It just keeps chugging along.
Salk vs Daedalus Speakers
FWIW I have heard both at shows and Daedalus is on my list of speakers I think I could live with whereas the book is still out on Salk.

"you would have been shocked with the performance of their two new top models and spent the day at the exhibit re-discovering your music you may have brought with you to the show, cheers"....not to mention when you heard the price. :^)Cheap skate....
Is computer audio a bust?
I suspect its much harder (and likely more expensive as well) to get optimal performance out of a turntable system than it is out of computer audio these days for most. ALso one will likely listen differently and in a less constrained manner with ...
Coincident Dynamo vs. Decware SE34I.4
Would probably boil down to features, size, aesthetics, etc. for me. Both are likely excellent. Maybe if I could a/b in my system I could choose the sound, but probably does not really matter as long as everything is set up (no pun intended) well.
Earliest "MOST WANTED" gear
OHM F speakers, Phase Linear amp, Thorens table, Tandberg cassette.
Why blind listening tests are flawed
When I used to sell gear years ago, blind listening tests for customers, though flawed for reasons the OP described, were the best tool available to help a customer decide what they liked best, AT THE TIME. But Time Always tells. From a buyers per...
Why do digital cables sound different?
YEs, asynchronous USB is the other key technology, especially I think if a general purpose computer is the source for streaming to DAC and maybe also if one wishes to push the limits in regards to high resolution digital audio files in that this i...
