Old phones as streaming sources I have an iPhone 7 still and use it to stream to high quality headphones and ear monitors via similar good quality headphone amps. The sound is as detailed and articulate as I have heard. YMMV but clearly on the grand scale of things audiophile le...
Quick System Building Pop Quiz: @jond the good news is in cases like yours there are lots of very fine and affordable options out there to explore with headphones, earbuds, portable DACs and amps, etc.
Humminguru record cleaner A few drops of Basic H in the water as I mentioned in fact acts as a surfactant. But I find it optional, not required for good results and probably not unique to any particular Ultrasonic cleaner.
MBL 101 X-Treme MKII Those are definitely worth going out of one’s way to hear.
Humminguru record cleaner I change the water regularly depending on how much used and how dirty records are. Just visual inspection. If it's not clear, I change the water. Or if it sits for a period of time between uses. A gallon of distilled water goes a long way.

Roon is snappy responsive now "SQ on the Bryston might be a little more robust but only under extreme scrutiny." Roon is very flexible in how its sound can be tweaked including applying user defined EQ and/or DSP. DSP is perhaps the feature now that I could least live without...
Roon is snappy responsive now Roon acknowledged slowness has been an issue in general and I see others on forums that confirm that can happen. Obviously there are many different Roon configurations and library sizes so I would expect varied impacts. I have a fairly large libr...
"Happy To Be Stuck With You!!!" I don’t know why Revel does not get more love here. Too easy perhaps.
The Unmeasurable Aspects of High-End Audio – PS Audio Stating the obvious. Good design matters. Noise and distortion is bad. But there will always be different strokes for different folks. |
