Synergistic Red Fuse ...
"Starve it of current or voltage lowering its performance;"That's the one thing I know of that a fuse might do to affect sound. To replace or not to replace?  Simple risk versus reward.   YMMV.   If gear is under warranty and maker says no, I would...
Neutral electronics are a farce...
I've heard it with my own ears as well many times over the years as I am sure have many others.  Nothing new.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
"It dips a little below 20hz by 2-3 db but no signifigant deviation. Not bad for a speaker rated to only 30hz. "That's pretty exceptional for most any speaker of modest size to be able to deliver below 20hz  I would think and frankly didn't know t...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
One other thing I can note is that my impression has been JS views cabinet volume as the key design criteria for selecting OHM models  with larger cabinets able to deliver more bass as needed. Also I would add that with my two pair of OHM Walshes, ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Just an educated guess, but i suspect cabinet design for a Walsh style driver is much different than conventional dynamic designs. Remember most of the higher frequency sound exits the cone above the cabinet so less energy is imparted into the cab...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Not saying that it's good or bad but not all cabinets are inert. Is is there an audible issue with the sound of the music?

Accurus are you using the Subdudes?
Do ClassDAudio Amps Have Proper Decay Of Notes?
Class D typically has very high damping factor.  That might play into things like like how decay of notes sound in some cases compared say to a tube amp.   I love my Class D amps.  They sound fantastic with every speaker I've run by them.  They de...

Neutral electronics are a farce...
What's the beef?atmasphere says phase switch may not always  be audible.  Geoff say it was in certain cases cited.  Breaking news:.  No inconsistency here.     Is it always necessary to have the last word?   I'm sure I won't be the one.  😭
Neutral electronics are a farce...
You'd think such a high precision device like that if truly possible  that would cost more than a few grand.
Neutral electronics are a farce...
Actually I think that exact answer was given a ways back in this thread. But nice of atmasphere to repeat it anyhow.
Headphone question
Yes I've read the Sonys are very highly regarded phones for studio monitoring. You want pro gear for that, not gear designed for private use.  Does not matter the brand.GO to a local Guitar Center.   They usually carry most of the most likely pro a...
Is it all worth it?
"Very likely there is an insatiable drive to hear something different, no matter how good the rig."I agree. Variety is the spice of life, right? I think explains most of what drives able bodied audiophiles to change over time.  Its a basic force o...
Question for you Denon DL-103 folks
I’ve been using DL103R low out MC with my Linn Axis for years and think that setup is the cat’s meow in terms of overall musicality (the best I have ever had and I’ve gone through many quality budget cart setups over the years) and would have to s...
