Speaker Suggestions for 300b SET Amp
Having researched this issue myself now for quite a while, if I were running a SET and looking for good sounding HE speakers to match on a budget, that can play ANY kind of music well, Klipsch Heresy III, hands down, easy decision. These were orig...
SYNERGY –is it all about the setup

Match of Hybrid Rogue Pharaoh and B&W 803D2 speaker
helomech,Could be. Some gear makers opt to do things like that for good reasons usually to enable better sound overall for more with less effort. Low bass is a bear to get right in most rooms. My Audio Research tube pre-amp does not dig as deep as...
From KEF 103.2 to Harbeth 30.1 and back....Your advice sought.
I'd suggest the Klipsch Heresy as well.  Maybe add a sub if desired.
Match of Hybrid Rogue Pharaoh and B&W 803D2 speaker
Helomech many Class D amps soft clip like a tube amp which woukd account for bass leveling off at some point.   The Rogue puts out a  lot of power and decent current for an integrated amp.    I use 500w/ch class d amps with my current hungry OHM s...
Does It have to be loud?
No and you can save a lot of money that way.   Wear and tear on your ears as well if you keep it below 85 db or so most of the time.  No good ears, no good sound....It’s producing large quantities of good sound that is hardest and most expensive.
Match of Hybrid Rogue Pharaoh and B&W 803D2 speaker
Rogue Pharoah is a great match for the B&Ws and their similar ilk. If its tube magic one seeks, best to go simply go all tube.If you want the best of both worlds, low distortion and and the ability to drive most any speaker well, a tube pre-am...
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
If noise is heard in tweeter with nothing playing try playing with how the wires are routed. Try to keep power and digital wires in particular as far away from line level analog wires as possible and listen for a difference in noise heard with wit...
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
If the op wants to smear $300 goo to make his $500 receiver sound better because the vendor recommends it thats his perogative. I’d ask for a money back guarantee first though at least if I were him. Funny how the world has managed to avoid such i...
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
I think perfectpath tech is way out of line recommending that particular product of his in this case.
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
What source devices do you hear it with? With power on switched to that device and nothing playing, with ear to tweeter do you hear any noise or is it dead quiet?I read in one review that sound quality with that Sony A/V receiver is not as "full" a...
Whats playing on your system today?
ELP Tarkus.  Awesome recording!
Why are so many people trying to sell Harbeths?
The Harbeths at CAF sounded very nice one of the few that left me wanting to come back but gotta say the cost was a shocker for a speaker of that size. I covered the whole show in about 4-5 hours on Saturday so could only note the rooms that caugh...
Greatest Rock Guitar Riffs
Two I've recently listened to worth a mention is Steve Howe on " Heart of the Sunrise" and Steve Hackett on "Please Don't Touch".
Scoring on Used Thiels here
Been looking but may have to wait to play with something new  in that some unexpected household repairs came up.  Problem is WAF will be a problem with 2-3 models large enough to possibly eliminate need for a sub.    1.6 woud work but be more of a...
