Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open.
"Some" would be right of course. 😉I often listen to peaks a lot louder. You would have to talk very loudly even sitting next to me to be heard. But it never actually sounds that loud which is usually a good omen that distortion is well under contr...

Lifelike SPL for me is that what one might hear at a similar live performance in the good seats, not too close but not too far away. I want my gear to be able to handle it all including perhaps sitting close to the percussion at the symphony or in...

I use the receivers only as a simple demonstration of the benefits of more clean power in a line that otherwise is mostly similar in design. Just my gut feel but I suspect there are many who have underpowered systems that clip perhaps in often sub...

Back in the 70s selling most popular receiver lines from Pioneer to sansui to Tandberg the more powerful models in a line (generally up to 120 w/ch or so) ALWAYS sounded better at least at moderate or higher levels. Clipping is always public enemy...

Ownership and Review of a pair of Ohm Super Sound Cylinder
Little known fact: Mamboni’s posts were a big part in my deciding to give newer OHM Walsh speakers a chance back in ~ 2008. I love mine  (series 3, one generation older than current) still for all the same reasons and find it hard to stay as immer...
What is the most dramatic way of increasing a speaker's Bass and Low mid?
Shall I suggest the E word: EQUALIZER!!!!Or less radical moving speakers closer to walls and corners pretty much always helps boost the bass, but often at teh expense of 3-d sound stage and imaging so a dilemma there..Equalizers....much easier, mo...
Any good reasons to use transistor phono stage and line level preamp instead of tube ?
No tubes usually means less maintenance and no cost of replacing tubes when needed.
Can you live with your current speaker until you die?
Could be.
... POORLY RECORDED SONGS THAT ...
Needless to say most songs are just of average recording quality and many more are relatively poor. The only thing one can do practically is try to build a system that allows one to enjoy as many recordings they might care about as possible. If you ...

If you could just pick one instrument that you think sounds best on your speakers
Ranger I know what you are saying about big Ohms and electronic instruments.
