Time to buy a class D amp? FWIW I’ve run a bunch of Class D amps over the last several years all the time and no tweeter meltdowns. In fact 0 issues and they even tend to be the quietest amps ever. Never a sound other than what’s playing. I even leave them on most of the ti...
Time to buy a class D amp? I run a BEl Canto C5i true-digital Class D integrated amp in a smaller system that would seem to fit your bill. Detail and resolution is top notch and never fatiguing. "Smoothest" sounding amp I have ever owned by far. Only 60 w/ch 8 ohm, enough t...
Why do Harbeth speakers have such a cult following @jsautter Yes, I always find it hard to land on just a single pair of speakers. I have 7 pair in 7 rooms currently. I like to hear different things. Maybe I’m always afraid I’m missing something. :^) The Ohm Walsh are still my go tos. I did think ...
Why do Harbeth speakers have such a cult following @pdreher That description jives with my 40.2 listening experience. Very "organic". I wish I could have stayed and listened longer.
What type of Amp for Ohm Walsh F-5015s? Those two recommemded amps are probably available from reputable online dealers with a good return policy if needed. Checkout Crutchfield, Audio Advisor etc. Maybe others can suggest one.
What type of Amp for Ohm Walsh F-5015s? I’d go with one of the OHM recommended amps to make sure it has what is needed for that particular model. Which is best for you will depend largely on your personal preference ie aesthetics, size, other features, etc.
Why do Harbeth speakers have such a cult following @twoleftears So in your assessment, is the 40.2 just more of the 30.2 but both are similar sound-wise?What is it about the SHL5 that is different? Thanks.
Why do Harbeth speakers have such a cult following Question for Harbeth experts out there:Are the two way models as good with vocal clarity as the 3-way models? I heard 40.2 over the weekend with some very elaborate Conrad Johnson amplification driving them. Vocal clarity and detail ( Donna Godcha...
Am I the only one who doesn’t love Harbeth P3esr? I was just at a dealer listening to the big Harbeth 40.2 this morning off a very impressive CJ amp combo. Very nice! Actually awesome was the word I used.I’m sure the P3esrs are very good for their size as well but like most entry level models in ...
Most annoying song, period. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFHWl-ZyRAg
Most annoying song, period. Probably one of those mass produced redundant top 40 songs out there these days that nobody here pays any attention to.
KEF-LS50 with REL T-Zero? Anyone? I use a Klipsch sw308 sub with my ls50s and this is a very good pairing, if you can still find one.The sw308 has 8" main driver and two 8" passive radiators and delivers a lot of detailed bass from a relatively small package. Results are top not...
Abbey Road 50th Anniversary Bass was very good with this version much like the others I have heard over the years.
Need Perfect Speakers for Acoustically Hostile Placement If there is room up there keep the speakers small and maybe put them on a small pair of Isoacoustics stands. That should help bring out the best.
Need Perfect Speakers for Acoustically Hostile Placement Dep yes and I still have a pair running out on my deck for many years that sound better than ever off a good modern Class D amp (Bel Canto ref10000m fed from ARC sp16 tube preamp). |
