This year at RMAF: ....and now for something completely.....Affordable @davidpritchard Sorry to hear that. You’d think especially with a penthouse rental and all the show would know whats going on in that room.
This year at RMAF: ....and now for something completely.....Affordable Hey Frazeur. Here is a recently published recap. https://ohmspeaker.com/news/rmaf-2019-wrap-up/
Standmount speakers. I have $5000. If I had $5000 to throw at a pair of stand mount speakers, I’d probably be looking at Fritz these days. Spartan looks but top notch build qualty and will mate better than most with most any amp including tube amps plus probably a fair amount of c...
RMAF 2019! For $150K, I do expect the speakers to sound good. :^)
Ohm FRS-15 v. Ohm Walsh 2 Are you asking about original Walsh 2's from the 1980's?
RMAF 2019! Ohm published a wrapup in the news section of their site. https://ohmspeaker.com/news/rmaf-2019-wrap-up/
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Here's a new post from Ohm in the news section of their website about their setup at RMAF. https://ohmspeaker.com/news/rmaf-2019-wrap-up/
Worth pursuing analog sound from digital? Yes but these days due to streaming and not trying to read music data in real time off error laden optical disks. That and most any decent DAC these days sounds very good.
Interest in Ohm speakers Those were Walsh 3000s in the zreview room from what I read. Probably a good pick but for an open floorplan area like that I would have thrown the big boys, the 5000s with 12" driver and 4 3-way level adjustments if needed at it and be meticulous ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? The special thing still about even original Walsh 2s, besides the usual big sweet area etc. is how robust and coherent they are. The drivers are protected well by that can. Also they can deliver a lot of fairly wide range sound compared to most an...
RMAF 2019! I’ve read some things from Stereophile mainly but not a lot out there yet it seems.IT looked like your typical show. The new venue seemed to go over well other than the cost of the rooms. I have not read anything particularly new different or eart...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? First let me say that all I care about is the sound, not the parts used to create it, and perhaps WAF to some extent. Yes its notoriously pretty ugly inside an original Walsh 2. Good thing its all out of sight. I doubt the newer ones are much ...
Perhaps not esoteric or "fringe" but the Chester and Lester album can bring pleasure I could listen to Chet Atkins play the phone book. 🏆
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Also note that older ohm speakers can be traded in for discounts on new ones assuming the cabs can be refurbished (most can). They can also be upgraded so any old Ohms can have significant value still that way.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em? Those original Walsh 2s from the 80s are a lot of speaker for the $ these days assuming the drivers are in good shape (possible) but are not nearly as refined sounding top to bottom as the newer models. |
