What equipment upgrades or tweaks will improve the sound of drums? Don’t know where the OP is, but its safe to bet that, even with a sub, if those small speakers, about the size of kef ls50s, are not in a small room like what they were designed to be in, its a very bad bet that tweaks alone will do much other tha...
What equipment upgrades or tweaks will improve the sound of drums? How big is the room? How big is the sub? Specific model would help. Enjoyed Rocket Man but I too missed that his classic band got no mention.Any specific tracks you are looking to deliver the percussion better with?
Musicians in your living room vs. you in the recording hall? I want what is in the recording. If its a live recording then take me there.
What are you streaming tonight? Yes it is.I discovered it reading Dream Theater did a live cover of Elton John’s Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding on it. Gave it a listen on Spotify and picked it up off ebay next day for <$5.The Ian Gillan-like vocal howls combined with...

Theoretical question about how CD's work The light travels really fast and it all arrives at the sensor at the same time so there is no problem except that Geoff needs to sell stuff.
What are you streaming tonight? Dream Theater really have at a handful of classic rock gems live on the "A Change Of Seasons" CD. They do justice to Elton John, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and others. Really good stuff!

Theoretical question about how CD's work Geoffkait actually you are clearly the skeptic here. Don’t be such a sad sack! Why don’t you write a book and enlighten the world further then smart guy? I’m sure there are enough neurotics out there you can appeal to to make it a big seller and h...
New KEF Reference 5 speakers Ls50s will always benefit from a sub. They are small speakers that work best in smaller rooms. Set up well in right size room they are excellent wihin their low end limitations and will reveal any shortcomings upstream.
Perception Going to live performances is perhaps the only practical way to really hit that "reset button" in regards to perception of what real music can sound like.Only then you are in a good position to start objectively assessing the sound quality of reco...
What are the advantages to a Class A amp & what are the trade offs? Class A amps are the least efficient kind. They are bigger heavier and draw more power (per watt output) than the rest so total cost of ownership is high. To make up for that you tend to want speakers that are more efficient. Quality full range hi... |
