New KEF Reference 5 speakers
Ls50s will always benefit from a sub.  They are  small speakers that work best in smaller rooms.  Set up well in right size room they are excellent wihin their low end limitations and will reveal any shortcomings upstream.
Perception
Going to live performances is perhaps the only practical way to really hit that "reset button" in regards to perception of what real music can sound like.Only then you are in a good position to start objectively assessing the sound quality of reco...
What are the advantages to a Class A amp & what are the trade offs?
Class A amps are the least efficient kind. They are bigger heavier and draw more power (per watt output) than the rest so total cost of ownership is high. To make up for that you tend to want speakers that are more efficient. Quality full range hi...
Theoretical question about how CD's work
No reason to argue about how CDs work.   It's pretty well documented.  Books are still an inquiring mind's best friend.
Perception
rv,We all have a reset button. When the mind gets too cluttered to function objectively, may be time to press it and start over anew.
Theoretical question about how CD's work
It’s a theoretical question as clearly stated and the answer is yes. That simple! Short and sweet. Many audiophiles (largely vendors like Geoffkait) are even more long winded than all those politicians up on the debate stage trying to convince peop...
Theoretical question about how CD's work
Answer is yes.
I went from Class D to Luxman A/AB - And most of what you think is wrong
From my experience with several Class D amps, newer Class D amp designs in general seem to have very effectively resolved the noise issues that can otherwise be associated with SMPS. I’ve seen this with my Class D amps ranging in cost from <$10...
anbody ever hear of an outfit called dynagroove records?
That  Dynagroove read was very interesting.   Never investigated why but those records never impressed me.

Bel Canto ref1000m manual indicates to leave the amps on and I do except if away for more than a couple days.  I also leave my Bel Canto c5i digital integrated amp  on all the time similarly.
Anyone here with Magico A3 driven by Bel Canto Ref600's?
We have a room fulll of amplifiers and have yet to find an amplifier that breaks the addage that you get what you pay for. Could be but it would be high end armageddon for sure were a dealer to find that. Most people want value. Having been to vari...

Yes lots of good amp designs with various pros and cons out there these days and Class D is now a very strong contender.

Eric what specific Class D amp have you had and what speakers have you used it with?   I have 3 Class D amps.   Each sounds different,  including 2 of the same brand.  yMMV. Thanks.
List your System Ingredients: Listed most to least expensive, by list price or price paid
I don’t proportion my system spending. Maybe I did when I first started about 40 years ago and had to put a complete system together initially within a meager working college student budget but that was too long ago to matter now. It’s a new world...
Anyone here with Magico A3 driven by Bel Canto Ref600's?
I'd expect these to be a very sound combo with excellent detail yet minimal fatigue.
