Replace Logitech Squeezebox Duet Have you tried using a web browser on a computer on your network if you have one as the controller to connect to LMS and see if your Squeezebox duet shows there? In any case, most streamers you would replace an older SB with wiki use an app that r...
Replace Logitech Squeezebox Duet Are you running Logitech media server on the computer? Squeeze devices connect to that.
TANNOY will stop Hi-FI ? Nice Tannoy story! We used to do things like that back in the ol’den days in our "lab" at Lafayette Radio and Radio Shack. Customers walking in, lots of tubes tested for free, fuses and styluses replaced, free battery cards, etc. Also checked out...
What does clipping sound like? It’s not clipping if no correlation with turning up the volume. Something else then that would have to be isolated by testing one change at a time.
What does clipping sound like? It sounds like distortion with any source that gets worse as you turn up the volume knob rather than things getting louder.
How do you know if you need to add a sub (without auditioning one, I mean)? Do the measuring with a sound meter app and white noise to see if/what you are missing or not. Only then will you know for sure. Having that lowest octave reasonably flat in response along with all the rest makes a significant listening difference...
How do you know if you need to add a sub (without auditioning one, I mean)? Two potential issues with boosting bass levels alone versus adding a good powered sub and setting it up properly:1) You might increase bass SPL FBOFW but not at the lowest octaves down to 20hz which is likely what is mostly missing to start in mos...
Class D amps that are superior to all or most? That reviewer really liked the Technics amp especially its phono sound and capabilities including ability to digitally correct per cartridge at least with the Ortofon black cart used.
How do you know if you need to add a sub (without auditioning one, I mean)? Sound meter (you can use an app on a smartphone) and white noise as a source ( available to stream via internet). If you do not see response down to 20 hz, you are missing the lower octaves that you should be able to hear and a proper sub would be ...
Class D amps that are superior to all or most? I am very tempted to try the new Class D Audio GaN based stereo class D amp for only $700. It’s gotta be worth that. My gut says probably a lot more.If anyone has bought and heard one of those, please report here ASAP! Thanks.
Class D amps that are superior to all or most? Both nice looking. How about a Class D amp with both a tube and a meter? Hubba hubba! The Legacy amp is interesting in that it is 4 channel and specs say only slightly more power into 4 ohm than 8....not sure what to make of that.
Why Do So Many Audiophiles Reject Blind Testing Of Audio Components? I would read this thread but am too busy doing blind testing.
Biggest audio hoaxes Not a fan of spikes. Prefer isolation pads when needed. Auralex Subdude does the job period. Not expensive, but effective and versatile. I’m sure there are other ways. YMMV. Isolation is one area where if it works in a studio it will work at home....
TANNOY will stop Hi-FI ? You have to take everything you read on the internet with several grains of salt. Time always tells.I did a google search and came up with nothing saying Tannoy will stop hifi. US distributor just said its not true and OP indicates the French impo... |
