Why Do So Many Audiophiles Reject Blind Testing Of Audio Components?
Uh, folks breaking news: double blind IS a form of listening and learning. So it sounds like everyone agrees that is a good thing, but of course there is a place and time for everything. Right?
Why Do So Many Audiophiles Reject Blind Testing Of Audio Components?
Chill out folks. Nobody is going to come knocking to blind test your stuff without permission. If they do give them the boot. It’s your domain and your right to prohibit any practice you like. Let the test police find some other poor victim to har...
Roon - Clipping and streaming
Hmmm well one reason to be glad I have not jumped to Roon yet.I’m pretty sure nothing I use up-samples. Not something I would even want at least with CD resolution material. I’d be more receptive if lower and done well. Just do it right please and...

Yes it’s a very imperfect world out there but Audiogon members on threads are working hard to somehow make it better.  Thank G-d they got their hifis and what they think they hear to help stay sane.
Anyone else upset about new Audiogon policies?
Anyone upset about policies I invite you to my next yard sale. I practically give things away because the yard sale is to get rid of things you don’t want anymore. You would love it. I even give freebies to kids if something catches their eye or s...

Perhaps the reality is people approve of this testing before they buy but not so much after?
Anyone else upset about new Audiogon policies?
Taking one’s business elsewhere is obviously always an appropriate thing to do when needed. Nothing new there. I’ve sold a few things here over the years. Nothing went unsold. If it does not sell in the first few days I lower the price. Then conti...
Anyone else upset about new Audiogon policies?
If Audiogon keeps raising its costs to users we won’t have any money left to buy the fuses, wires, expensive goop, and other things we all need.    This is bad!  Something has to give.
Anyone else upset about new Audiogon policies?
Gotta pay the bills.Disclaimer: people asking top dollar for expensive often used, sometimes old stuff in uncertified condition need to pay the bills too obviously. There is always Nextdoor or Craigslist or us a mart or sell to a dealer for less w...
Is $2,844 too much to pay for a fuse?
If you buy these fuses you now have to upgrade all the rest of the parts in there to the same general cost range also to keep up and not bottleneck the performance you are sure to achieve. Right? Also better start paying your electric company more...
Holographic Soundstage ?
@sgreg1 that is not how it works. Also It’s not unusual for tube amps with higher output impedance ( than SS in general and Krell) to have relatively less articulate bass and inferior dynamics as it interacts with the speaker load at various freque...
Are these streams being replaced... node 2i, and PS
Anyone make a streamer these days with form and function like Squeezebox Touch?
Is $2,844 too much to pay for a fuse?
The thing is, to do things right, you have to address fundamentals first. The issue I have is when people focus on things like this incessantly.....and never advise to address fundamentals first. Or oversimplify the fundamentals in order to get by...
Roon - Clipping and streaming
I would not expect a device to expect me to detect and apply a manual adjustment to get the signal right.  Is this a common thing or unique to that Mytek?
Is $2,844 too much to pay for a fuse?
The job of a fuse is to blow when needed to prevent damage to the gear. So your fuse $$$s may well go up in smoke as designed at some point. Also fuses are delicate devices that age and wear over time and require replacement at some point to funct...
