Should I avoid thick vinyl?
"Once I set my rig up and it sounds wonderful I leave it alone."Me too.
Anyone have a victrola
The closest thing I have managed to-date with a Victrola is a rear lit clock on my wall behind my system with the RCA Victrola/Nipper logo on it. I found that from a vendor on Ebay for about $100.

Anyone have a victrola
No, but I would love to have one even if just as a show piece if I came upon one in good shape and not too expensive. Don't know how likely that is though.I recently recorded all my families heirloom 78s that used to be played on a Victrola years ...
Good Country recordings
Chatta, yes, it was in like-new condition. The store had two of them actually for that price. I thought it was too good to be true at first.I suspect there is a glut of Johnny Cash stuff out there these days that affects the asking price. His stuf...
Cambridge 840C Azur through a Bryston BDA-1 DAC?
I think it might be different but not necessarily better. I've heard the Cambridge in some very good systems and it was audibly not a weak link. Not the most expensive, exotic or sexiest piece out there, but a very good performer regardless.

Good points Marty.
Elvis Presley Fans?
I think more audiophiles would favor Elvis if his recording label was on the Shaded Dogs.
any new Beatle fans because of the remasters?
Chasmal,A friend of mine who knows my concert wants just scored tickets for SAvoy Brown live, front and center at one of the best small venue concert locations around coming up in January. I am VERY psyched for that!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
Dylan live now
"Dylan is a chameleon,a genius period."I agree with that.
Elvis Presley Fans?
My wife loves Elvis. We visited Graceland and Sun Studios in Memphis this past summer and I enjoyed all that immensely. I find Elvis' story fascinating but admittedly am not a huge fan of his music as a whole to date. I've been revisiting a lot of...
Speakers for bad rock recordings
OHM Walsh speakers will bring out the best in most recordings, including those that are deficient to start.
