Budget Speaker Recommendation?
Look no further than Triangle Titus 202.I use them in a similar sized family room (see my system photos). Add a sub and you have competitive full range big league sound for not much. lov 'em!
new Magico speakers the Q5
I like MAgico minis but I also like PSB, OHM, Dynaudio, Triangle and others that cost much less. I know I could live with these others, not sure about Magico, I would have to listen some more. After all, overbuilding is fine but there is only so mu...
new Magico speakers the Q5
"Sorry, it just doesn't add up."Actually, it probably does.Magico's appeal is its no compromise focus on quality. That does carry a price in terms of R&D and associated overhead costs. ANd their products do deliver sterling sound. All I'm sayin...
new Magico speakers the Q5
Beware telling a Magico dealer that you like what you hear. I've had the experience of a dealer attempting to ridicule me for questioning the value. They sounded good to me so I should be willing to write my check for over $30000 immediately, a 50...
Dynaudio C-4 or Revel Salon 2
For listening in a variety of locations in a large open area, larger omnis like mbl 111 used or larger OHM 300Series3, 4000, 5000 or 5Series3 new for less than half the cost of the big Dyns are worth considering. I have large and smaller OHMs and ...
Whats your current Reference CD at the moment?

Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
BTW, regarding OHMs and room size, for larger rooms, I think a very cost effective strategy could be to actually undersize the OHMs in lieu of matching size exactly ( do NOT get OHMs that are too big for a room, that could be a dead end) and then ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Bondmanp,I agree with the application of a sub in your case with your OHMS, room size and sub.Using the sub allows to to bump up the SPLs in the range they are covering, right, compared to your OHMs, which cannot, right? WIth a good sub blended in...
new Magico speakers the Q5
Looks like they'll enable Magico to be more cost competitive with mbl 101s and such. Are these Magicos for smaller rooms or can they really compete with the mbls in larger rooms?
The best "imaging" speakers?
The mbl 111s were the best I've heard.101s are probably as good or better and more dynamic from what I know but have never heard them.Magico minis were also very good in a smaller room and so were PSB Synchrony series.OHM Walshes are also very goo...
Dynaudio C-4 or Revel Salon 2
Dynaudios generally do most everything well.Never heard Revels but have read some about them.I think the choice will boil down to personal taste. Both are good.

Yay, another speaker design from Magico that I suppose few will be able to afford.I guess we just get to look at pictures and drool for now. Not much info on the site, kind of like walkig into a fancy Soho boutique with 5 items on display....you k...
John Lennon, 29 years ago today....
I'd also say that even if the Beatles formed without John Lennon, their influence would have been lesser. He was the primary force in the Beatles that made people take notice IMHO. His music was a big part but his wit, outspokenness and apparent i...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Also, to be clear, the cases for subs I outlined above apply to 2 channel audio listening scenarios, which is what the Walshes are primarily designed for. I think OHM/John S. even recommends considering use of subs with their speakers for ultimate...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
One other scenario I can see for using a sub is if one likes a particular amp that may not be an ideal match current wise for the OHMs. In these cases, the full low end potential of the OHMS may not be realized and a sub could be an effective supp...
