Would getting a pair of Maggie 1.4s be an upgrade?
I used to have a pair of small Boston Acoustics. They were very popular back in the 80's. I had no qualms with them. Its a matter of personal taste.
Which speakers?
I agree Triangle should be a very good choice for someone who has hearing difficulties. They are easy to drive, exceptionally clean, crisp, clear balanced and spacious top to bottom .
Would getting a pair of Maggie 1.4s be an upgrade?

Would getting a pair of Maggie 1.4s be an upgrade?
"Would replacing the VR with the 1.4s be considered an upgrade?"Maggies sound and do things differently from conventional dynamic designs. I think that would depend mostly on whether you consider the differences you will hear to be an upgrade or n...

Disappointing Evening
I remember when I was a kid, my first stereo was a Motorola all in on record player with fold out speakers. Then, as a young teen, I got my first real stereo, for $200 an all in one Sanyo with radio, ceramic cart phono, tape, and speakers, a big st...

Band with highest success/talent ratio?
I assess the talent level in Genesis as essentially equal to the Beatles. The Beatles clearly edge Genesis out to some degree in success though neither were slouches by any stretch.here's some others of interest to me in particular (I'm a progressi...
Disappointing Evening
I tend to agree with Shadorne.Good sound at low volumes is passe with most these days. Most people do not care about really excellent sound and those who do seldom agree on what's best anyhow. So what's the point?Loud and clear is more impressive! ...

What CDP gets really close to vinyl?
One area where my experience with the mhdt DACs differs a bit from the reviewers is that I believe the COnstantine to have better high and low end frequency extension and better dynamics overall than the Paradisea. The Constantine's bass may come ...
Band with highest success/talent ratio?
"Mapman, are you taking a swipe at Elvis?"Hmm, no, but I suppose one could make an argument to earn him consideration. He was not a "band" act though.Neither is Yoko Ono or Michael Jackson.I think "The Jacksons" would not warrant consideration for ...
