Help with used records.
"Lighter fluid does an excellent job of removing stickers without damaging the jacket."Hmm, I might be a little concerned with some of the associated side effects of that one, like increased tendency for records to spontaneously ignite undesirably?

"the Trio is like the best planar on steroids"Funny, but I have heard some planar users that switched to OHM Walsh speakers (like myself) use that same analogy.Having heard all kinds of speakers over the years, including some really good modern ho...
Does a Class D amp match well with Thiel Speakers?
I think I understand.I think we share similar goals but perhaps may take different approaches in achieving it.
Why Not More Conversation about VAC?
The VAC gear I've heard has all been top notch but too expensive and I am not one to dabble with maintaining tube gear if not needed.I had a crush on the VAC Phi Beta integrated at one point. Then the Jolida fx10 was in my league and stole my heart...

Does a Class D amp match well with Thiel Speakers?
"The 'only' issue is THIEL's propensity toward an analytical sound...usually ameliorated with tubes in the preamp stage...just sayin'."I prefer speakers capable of "analytical sound". Its usually not too hard to tame them as needed or if desired. ...
What does one purchase after owning horns?
"IMO the fact that horn-loaded drivers don't have to move much to make a lot of sound helps keep their distortion down."Mass and inertia are certainly big considerations when designing any high performance speaker, no doubt. The bending wave theory...

" As in all fields, the application of generalizations is fraught with difficulties!"Amen, brother!
What CDP gets really close to vinyl?
I was not aware there is a spec dynamic range limit for vinyl? If there is, it is quite old and hence not surprising if newer CD redbook specs surpass it.Seems to me though that in practice the only limit for vinyl dynamic range is how much modulat...

I too am very interested in opinions from experienced a'goner's who have tried various headphone/amp combos over the years and settled in on a particular combo for some particular reason.I have been doing some experimenting of late with some of te...
