Do you listen to your music with your eyes open or closed or a combination of both?
As I age, if I close my eyes while listening to, sleep beckons.
Streamer, no DAC please?
I’d get the WiimPro for around $100.  The app is great.  If streaming is fun and if you feel the need for something more pricey to squeeze out that missing 2% of SQ then go for it

Thanks for the update.  I have decided that when I recover from my knee surgery this spring that I will intensely pursue an upgrade
Bluesound Node versions SQ
I had 2 Nodes that got hung up and died on updates, both past the warranty period. Dirac is nice but you might investigate shm.  They are Hong Kong based and make streamers coupled with Dirac.  Or if you have DAC, I really recommend the Wiim Pro,...
Why are DAC's so much more expensive than transports?
Great Question. I recently bought a Wiim Pro for $100.  It’s intended for my basement HT system, which had been Physical Media only.  It sounds great.  I moved it to the big two channel rig and an experiment running it into same Bryston DAC as my...
Streamer Recommendations
I really enjoy my Cambridge Audio CXN 100 .  I use an external DAC but the included DAC was pretty decent, and it’s since been upgraded to an ESS Sabre Chip.  The Stream Magic app is easy to work with and finds most of the music on my NAS easily (...
«40% Of Audiophiles Are Dying And No One Is Doing Anything About It!»
None of this is news.  We are dying off and most of our prized gear and physical media will end up in landfills or museums.  I feel for the younger ones that are feeling lonely; hell I feel lonely; I know perhaps one audiophile in my bubble of the...
What do the statistics say about the age of Audiophiles and the replacement rate?
I’m not surprised that the OP found primarily older men in the gear store.  I am more surprised that he found an actual store that sells gear
Do you agree with John Atkinson (and me)?
In the streaming era, this is like arguing about angels fitting on the head of a pin. It has completely lost relevance to the modern landscape. fwiw I’ve never known any of those stereotypes, people that owned high end systems and played only dem...
LoFi
My record collection, my pride and joy, was wiped out in a flood in 1985.  By coincidence the flood occurred the night my triplets were born, August 6; also the anniversary of the Hiroshima bomb, so a portentous day.  I couldn’t afford to buy a CD...

@lloydc    so what brands do you recommend for listening to music? @larsman thats an interesting Costco comment.  I don’t want to cause any issue for the Techs, as I suspect they don’t determine what the store carries, but I will speak to manag...
Hearing Aids
I have the Phillips from Costco and the only setting that makes music listenable is the hi Fi setting, but even that is iffy. I was at an opera recently and they were so screechy in the treble that I removed them. I also don’t like streaming musi...
McIntosh DS200
I’m with the OP.  The company knows that audiophiles love to play with different equipment.  It’s also stupid for their business, as Mac customers have great brand loyalty, and they could market a megabucks Mac DAC to them down the road.  Mac cust...
What is the best place to archive my digital music files?
OP   your original post is to short on information.  What is your current source for your digital files?  Does your Marantz amp come with a streaming module?  Does it have an included DAC?   If the answers to the two questions above are yes, th...

What exactly are you requesting assistance with?  New speakers?  Were you interested in changing your electronics?  Are you ok with your sources?
