Oops, HOUSE FLOOD!! Audiophile vinyl collection got soaked. Where do we go from here? Sorry about your loss.My lps were ruined in a house flood on August 6, 1985. I remember the date because my wife had a C section that day. I was in Grad school, broke, couldn't replace any of them. There were no second hand stores selling lps t...
Tidal on Oppo 105 I have both the 105 and the Mytek Manhatten. Since adding the Mytek the Oppo has mainly become a transport. The Mytek Brooklyn is cheaper and does MQA, if you care. Tidal is supposed to be adding MQA files.
Options for full-featured music servers/streamers? The Bluesound Node 2 does indeed have it 's own DAC.i control my system with an I pad but have a friend who uses a $50.00 Amazon Kindle to control his.Using a tablet helps view your library and make playlists
Options for full-featured music servers/streamers? Bluesound.if you liked Olive, you will love Bluesound.customer service has been good, the company is a joint venture of NAD and PSB, both of whom have been around for decades, and the stuff is reasonably priced. They also support MQA, if that matters
New blog post on the world of portable hi res audio To each his own. I don't want to stop anyone from enjoying a portable system in preference to a more conventional system. However, in the recent past I have experimented with different buds, high end phones, headphone amps, for I never will see ...
MQA - One Filter to Rule them All? I didn't think that Stereophile's latest was nearly as orgasmic sounding about MQA as Robert Harley at TAS. If MQA bombs, Harley really ought to leave the business after such shameless shilling. My take on MQA is that it is a high Res format tha...
help a Die hard ANALOG guy choose a budget CDP I'll be the outlier here. I've dabbled in Computer Audio, and currently use a Bluesound whole home system. I still get my greatest enjoyment from popping a disc into a transport, sending it to a DAC, and enjoy! No operating system hassles, no D...
MQA - All the Gory details over at Stereophile I have some 2L Blu Ray recordings as they were a Pioneer in Blu Ray Audio but haven't played the much
Bluesound Node2 I have the Vault 2 in my 2 channel system and the node in a HT system (the Node plays 2 channel only). I think the DACs are the same.My channel system is a higher end system with a great DAC (Mytek Manhattan). My HT system DAC is more prosaic, u...
MQA - All the Gory details over at Stereophile The 1 sample I listened to previously didn't do much for me
MQA - All the Gory details over at Stereophile Any gory details on when some MQA Content might atually be released?
help a Die hard ANALOG guy choose a budget CDP I would get a good DAC and then an inexpensive transport. You can use the DAC with streamers and other digital sources going forward.OTOH, the Oppo 105 is a pretty good DAC and is in your budget and can perhaps be used as a streamer (I own one but...
Pros & Cons of Buying an Integrated with Built-in DAC? There is more to DAC performance than what chip is used. I have the Oppo 105 Universal Player/DAC and the freestanding DAC Mytek Manhatten. Which uses the same chip. The comparison isn't close; there is so much more detail with the Mytek. Of co...
DACs that upsample to DSD internally? I have the Mytek Manhatten (I).. It converts everything into DSD
Bryston BDA-3 Does anyone know if Bryston intends to add MQA support to their DACs? I would hate to by the DAC 3 only to find it was added the next week... |
