Best Sounding Bruckner Recordings Edge I am not enough of a Wagnerian to have an opinion. I prefer my RW as bleeding chunks. I prefer Solti in The Ring because he keeps me interested
Best Sounding Bruckner Recordings Thanks Lefty, I might look for a current issue of TAS in a magazine store and read it. I canceled my TAS subscription in disgust over their shameless shilling for MQA
Best Tchaikovsky’s 6th Symphony Recording Curentzis isn’t entertaining, like that flashy woman you meet a bar, but would be hard to take as a regular partner. I enjoyed the Kiril Petrenko who really takes a bit of a conservative view, but again I’ll state a preference for Bychkov in term...

What is the best sounding Mahler symphony cycle? Yeah, their Fourth is a keeper. Started listening to their Sixth today but haven’t formed an opinion yet
Streamers with best apps? My Roon experience was limited. I tried the free trial but on day 2 my vintage MacAiir froze and was dangerously overheating. I have several thousand CDs in my collection and I think the computer was overtaxed. At any rate the one day that I di...
What is the best sounding Mahler symphony cycle? Jim 204 I assume that you mean Ivan Fischer and Budapest. I like their Fourthand I’ve been comparing it with the Blu Ray of Ivan Fischer leading the Concertgebouw. They are very similar

Best Sounding Bruckner Recordings Lefty I ordered the Karajan Blu Ray. Best price I had seen and had an Amazon gift card to use up. Thanks for the link.Camille- the reviews on the VPO haven’t been very favorable. And some of the recordings clearly don’t appeal. Ozawa in the Fi...
Bluesound Node 2i vs Upscale streamers Apple Music plays at 256 bps. I assume that the Bluesound component has a tab for it as they have a tab for every streaming service. It probably sounds just fine. The bigger question is how a lossless recording would sound.
Upgrading a CD/SACD player with integral DAC I’ve mentioned before that I use a Bryston DAC3 that has 4 HDMI inputs. The OP doesn’t have SACDS, but would like to have the capability to play . I have lots of SACD and output the DSD layer of SACD over HDMI from an Oppo 105 and a Sony 9000 SA...
MQA and classical music I did a Tidal trial and sampled Classical pieces. I was limited to my Bluesound Node2 for MQA, as my better DACs did not have MQA capability. I couldn’t notice any difference. Perhaps a better DAC would revealed something slight improvement for...
Time for a new a/v receiver could use some input! I went “down” in power from a 130 watt AVR to 100 watts with the 520 and didn’t notice any issue. And with room correction and enhanced DAC the sound was a huge upgrade from my previous Onkyo AVR |
