Analog invites you to turn up the volume
Lot's of variables including the quality of source components (obviously), but my take on this is, that vinyl is natively analog. No DAC. No square waves converted to sinusoidal. So it sounds better, especially loud. Case in point - I recently li...
Bluesound Node Icon
I'm in a similar boat, N130, external DAC, easy decision to stay with N130. I added the LHY LPS and DH Labs USB and ethernet cables, as well as SmoothLan from Stack Audio. Sounds great, no intention of upgrading anytime soon. Reference is an ana...
Will an Amp change improve my system ?
I’d get another REL if I were you before changing amps, and run them off the speaker taps. And get some good sub cables from designacable.com in the U.K. (half the price of the REL blue cable upgrade)
Is the microwave the perfect model for audio marketting?
I don’t quite get the connection but regardless of features, the microwave oven that mounts over the stove with the built in fan is the worst kitchen appliance ever invented.
Will an Amp change improve my system ?
I owned 30.2 XDs and enjoyed them a lot with a Raven Audio Osprey, although it was a bit underpowered. I have also owned the Rogers EHF 200. It was by far the worst purchase in my audio journey - run away…run away very fast. I can’t speak to you...
Chet Baker vs. Miles Davis
@lalitk Thanks for introducing me to Chris Botti - listening to "Impressions" now (Qobuz, HR) - beautiful.
Chet Baker vs. Miles Davis
@glennstereo  In some ways, its kind of like comparing Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. I like them both, but Stevie would not have been Stevie without the presence and direction of Jimi Hendrix.... 100%
Why isn’t more detail always better?
Interested in what others have to say about these things.   It seems to me you are more interested in what you want to hear yourself tell us about these things. Seriously, you answered your own question in the OP. Why isn’t more detail alway...
Chet Baker vs. Miles Davis
@jond I think Clifford Brown had better control than Miles Davis, it’s a shame he died so young. We’d be having a different conversation I think.
Ugliest Component of the Year 2024!
Tekton V12: $14K. Add $10K for high-gloss paint - seriously?
Ugliest Component of the Year 2024!
@lalitk Good topic...we should call out the bad and ugly as well as the good.
Ugliest Component of the Year 2024!
@oldrooney I owned an EHF-200. They are not pretty up close. The whole space/mil build thing is just marketing and the sound is meh and the "transferrable lifetime warranty" is BS. The unit has to go back to Roger to be "re-certified for $500-$750...
Ugliest Component of the Year 2024!
@otherworld74 I'm not as offended by Wadax - seems like at least there is a method to the madness
Ugliest Component of the Year 2024!
@fredapplegate Nice one!

Is that a Ken doll record player?
