Ever Bought an Audio Product that was Stupid Good for the Money? Can't beat those Fleawatts! I've had a few of them and love Derek's creations. All very musical and stupid good for the $.
Has anyone had experiences good or bad with speaker isolation or isolation in general ? Back in the day, in the mid 80's or so, Mod Squad came out with Tip Toes. For about $7 for a 1.5" metal triangle cone that looked like a large silver Hershey Kiss, I had them under my amp, preamp, TT and speakers. They were amazing and made such...
Safe Way To Transport LPs To transport my 1500+ LP collection, I have found it much easier to break it up into smaller boxes. The free boxes from the local liquor store has the perfect small boxes that hold 50-75 lps each. It's light and easy to transport. My collection...
Dearly departed Music Reference RM9 Along the same vintage as the RM-9, the Berning EA-2100 supposed to be an incredible sounding amp and the tubes are very conservatively run as well. I remember reading a review of this amp in TAS or Absolute Sound back in the day, very neutral, q...
Ever Bought an Audio Product that was Stupid Good for the Money? seanheis, which Gemtune 1501 do you have, the one with 6bq5's or the 6AD10's? I was thinking about one of these but went a different way when a reasonable Tandberg 3012 popped up. Always wanted to hear one of these Tandbergs, stupid good at $250...
Integrateds, which one?????????????? I would have gone with tubes, if it were me.....SS just isn't as good, IMHO.
Ever Bought an Audio Product that was Stupid Good for the Money? The Paisley Research AE500's I found several years ago on CL for $75 was beyond stupid good, it was more like stupid f'in amazing! Definitely the best speakers I've ever owned. Bettered the $1400 Omega Grande 8's I had at the time and they retai...
Small room electrostat/ planar speaker? 11 x 12 is not a very big room, if it were me, I'd ace the Maggies and get a 3 piece system with 2 good satellites and good subwoofer. I recently saw a pair of ProAc Super Tablettes that had been totally restored for about 1K, I'd jump on those a...
This is pretty funny and probably true for most of us If you can't come clean with how much your system really costs, (and lots of us can't really divulge that information), write a note, seal the envelope and tell your wife - upon my death, please open this envelope. That way if she ever sells, she...
Can anyone identify these speakers? Forgive me, but I don't see how the BIC Venturi that auxinput posted above and others commented on look remotely comparable to what I originally posted.I think it looks more like an Alon speaker. Anyone wish to try again? Thanks :)
Are You Sorbothane Experienced? Very doubtful you'll find Mod Squad TipToes, I believe they were the original points made in the mid 80's I think. Many have been made since at much higher prices.
Can anyone identify these speakers? Any educated guess on the speakers in the original post?
Are You Sorbothane Experienced? I have some old school Audioquest Sorbothane Feet (the large ones), 8 of them that I've had for years. They are squishy and do leave stains that are very hard to get rid of, especially if you stack one component on top of another - a no-no but so... |
