TT, 12" Tonearm. Who tried and ended up preferring 12" arm?
We've been over this ground it seems like a thousand times, but I don't think all 3 of the Victor turntables you list have the "bi-directional servo".  The TT81 (according to hearsay) and the TT101 (according to my personal experience) are the one...

I think it’s analogous to “back EMF” that affects the interface between amplifier and electromagnetic speakers. The movement of the coil on the cantilever that is excited by the groove is not perfectly damped. Any spurious motion thus created woul...
How good is the Micro Seiki DDX-1000 Direct Drive turntable ?
Others made the point that attaching the arm board to an outboard footer, as was done in some M-S belt drives, is not a good idea, because any energy delivered into the footer will make its way up into the tonearm.  I think that's a good point of ...

Chak, You're right about the subject is not dust covers.  My bad, but I didn't want to leave Mijostyn's comment in its unvarnished form.  There are two sides to it. On the DDX-1000, I think you made the right decision.

Hairy ears are also bad.Shape of ears and cartilaginous geography also. There may be a market for nanoquantum pinna surgery.
Deciding on new TT and either a Zephyr MIMC vs an Audio Technica ART9
The notion that the lower moving mass of a moving iron type cartridge inevitably makes it superior to a moving coil type is appealing, but there are no real data to support it. I admit that I too find that I like the sound of most moving iron car...

You do what you do, and I will do what I do. I just wanted to present both sides of the story. I haven’t change my opinion, which is based on real world experience. And I’m sure you feel the same way.

Dust covers are a strict nono for use during play. They’re fine for protection against dust when one is not listening to vinyl. They don’t protect against airborne vibration, rather, they amplify airborne vibration by vibrating themselves and then...
How good is the Micro Seiki DDX-1000 Direct Drive turntable ?
The DQX models featured quartz referenced speed control. That’s an upgrade vs DDX.The tonearms mount essentially on the footers, as in some other MS designs. That’s not good for isolation. The platter is very light weight compared to others of the ...
At what price point do I run into diminishing returns on an MC Cartridge?
Chakster and Edgeware, I own both an MC7500 and an MC2000.  Just recently I was able to borrow a current-driven phono input for the MC2000; prior to that none of my phono stages had enough gain to make the MC2000 "live".  And I don't own, nor ever...

Now try 47K and work downward from that value until you’re happiest.
VPI's new "Vanquish" Ultra High-End turntable is a STUNNER!
I guess that sums it up nicely.
Turntable isolation platforms
Miller has a right idea, IMO.
Turntable mat options
That must be it.

I think if looks are important, Adona gives a lot of bang for buck.  Otherwise, I would not spend big bucks.
