If I could afford, I’d purchase 100% Oswald Mills Audio gear
A few years ago, they were selling the Saskia turntable, made of slate and idler-driven.  The Saskia was conceived of and built by Win Tinnon of North Carolina, based on his love for the Lenco; no part of it was made by OMA.  Win built every one o...

I don’t know anything at all about their speakers, but most of the other products they sell are not “made“ by OMA. They are made (designed and built) by other entrepreneurs and sold through OMA. Usually OMA adds some exterior design elements to id...
MY SONIC LAB Cartridges
I find that the three or four of my 20 or so cartridges that I like the best tend to sound quite the same to me if I were to close my eyes. And I like to think that this is because I am drawn to their neutrality more than anything else. In other w...
$10K budget? Look no further, EMT 948 NIB
Agree with Mike L. I would ditch the EMT tonearm and the built in phono stage. Then it would be interesting to compare it to a Mk3 or 10R in similar livery.

JPerry, Eyes closed, could you distinguish among those 4 cartridges?
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
Dear Raul, I don't understand what you want me to say.  I can only say (again) that my experience with underhung tonearms using zero headshell offset angle suggests that precise adherence to any algorithm that posits minimizing tracking angle erro...

This is Richard Krebs’ turntable wearing a new dress. The new dress is made of cast iron. Powerful motors require powerful magnets. I am curious what happens to the magnetic field in this situation. I hope Richard and Frank Schroeder are getting a...
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
The thing is that an under hung tonearm will yield massive amounts of tracking angle error when the stylus is not located at its single null point on the surface of the LP. Way more tracking angle error than is developed in a properly aligned over...
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
I always wonder what sort of (mono) systems were available to Baerwald and Lofgren in the late 1930 or early 1940s, when they published their analyses, and how their work applies to modern stereo gear. Yes, geometry is still geometry, I know.TomWh...
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
Whether exactly correct alignment could be achieved with the OP‘s situation is definitely a good question. I share your opinion that most headshells would not have that much adjustability room. But that is different from saying not to do it becaus...
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
What will happen, if you use a 240mm P2S distance where 250mm is recommended, if you do nothing to compensate for that error, is the null points will move farther apart from each other.  If the tonearm is designed for an algorithm like Stevenson, ...

As long as you know that the SP10R is a modern turntable just recently introduced by technics which uses a coreless motor. I was not referring to a1970-vintage  SP 10 or an SP 10 Mk2. Now the old SP 10 Mk3 probably is on par with the SP 10 R. So l...
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
Why would moving the cartridge forward in a headshell with elongated slots “look ugly”, and who cares?
Spindle-To-Pivot Distance
I know I’ll get hate mail, figuratively, but anal attention to alignment is overrated in my opinion, as regards the effect of slight misalignment on audible distortion.

Bill, just fooling with you.
