So Weird- No Stylus Contact Woofer Pumping with Hana ML and Elac PPA-2
Two lollipops then. "No insult was intended."  MY point.
What is you tonearm’s Maximum Distortion?
That has been a very popular subject here lately.  How are you calculating distortion?

"I find a subset of people in the Analog section of the board who are terse, unhelpful and impolite if not outright rude and insulting. What could be more unhelpful than to present, as a fact, something that simply false." Would you like a lollip...
Phono Stage upgrade to complement Dohmann Helix One Mk 2
Mike, I assume Skos is referring to and thinking of buying the CS Port phono stage, not the TT.  But I could be wrong.

As Mijostyn knows, I too use Sound Lab speakers, the 845PXs. The "backplate", in Sound Lab parlance, is where the bass and treble audio step up transformers and the passive crossover network that divides the frequencies that drive them, are housed...

Sorry. I’m wrong when I wrote DC has no rise time. I still doubt DC is moving your woofer at whatever low frequency it’s moving. And constant DC of one polarity will burn out a voice coil. If it’s rapidly changing polarity by 180 degrees perhaps n...

Show me or describe the wave form. You could be describing a square wave, which is complex AC. DC seen on a scope is a flat line with respect to time. The vertical position of that line will depend upon magnitude. DC into your woofer might burn up...
The Mood Was Ruined
I have never used an auto lift nor owned a turntable with that feature built-in. I am  in no particular rush to get up and change the record when it reaches the run out grooves. So my cartridges log many seconds in the runout grooves per side, loo...
Second MC Cartridge Choice.....Tokyo
FWIW, you can’t buy the top end ZYX in Tokyo, the Universe and its descendants, at least you couldn’t 2 years ago. They’re marketed via the US distributor, Mehran, on the West Coast. All other ZYXs were available though.
Just upgraded my cart to a Koetsu Rosewood Signature...
Low compliance, not high compliance. Which is why the added mass on the headshell helps.
MC for Low Mass Tonearm
Egregious error on my part.  In the post above gakerty's, I wrote, "In fact if the compliance of the "heavy" cartridge is low enough, you actually need a lightweight (read low effective mass) tonearm if you want to comply with the recommended rule...
MC for Low Mass Tonearm
Barring problems with counterbalancing the cartridge's weight, the weight of the cartridge is inconsequential, in my opinion, so long as the combined effective mass (tonearm + headshell + mounting screws + cartridge) is within reason. In fact if t...
Lyra and OMA
Michael, I think you were questioning JCarr's implication that a higher effective mass tonearm will produce more robust bass from your cartridge, even when the calculated resonant frequency is already within the generally accepted range of 8 to 12...
MC for Low Mass Tonearm
B&O MMC1 might be the finest cartridge I’ve ever owned, until I accidentally destroyed the cantilever. SS replaced cantilever and stylus but I’ve been reluctant to listen to the repaired version for fear that I’ll be disappointed. Acutex LPM32...

OP says above he already owns SS The Voice.
