The "Very Best Record Cleaning Formulation"
Dear Wizzzard, You might start by taking a look at the topics of long-lasting threads here on the Audiogon Analog forum.  You probably would note that the same or very similar issues arise over and over again.  For some topics there is seemingly a...

Correction: the stylus underhangs the spindle by the distance of the spindle from the arc described by the stylus once it is set to produce a single null point at the center of the playing surface. Not quite what I wrote above.

Viv (not "vivid") supply a mounting template which is an L-shaped piece of plastic into which a hole is drilled for the spindle. You then place the template over the spindle and align the arm wand to be in line with the other leg of the "L", and s...

Based on all other writings on the subject of “pod”, I define a pod as a separate base or stand or support structure used for the sole purpose of supporting a tonearm mounted outboard of the plinth, never on the plinth. The truncated conical struc...
LP Thickness/Taper
Since the angle of incline appears to be constant from outer to inner grooves, seems to me if you set azimuth correctly at any point on the LP surface, there would be no problem related to a changing azimuth angle.

What weighs ~2 lbs is the base of the tonearm itself which houses the pivot and the magnetic oil bath. That sits directly on the surface of the slate plinth. To be clearer, I am not using any outboard pod at all. Doggie, what this experience sugg...

mint best tractor gone?
So if I set up two otherwise identical tonearms and cartridges on the same TT, one using Lofgren A and the other using B, you could hear the difference?
Second-hand record stores in Tokyo
Disc Union is a big business with a prominent ground level store front in Ochanomizu. The name is emblazoned on the building in English script. You can’t miss it. They may have smaller branch stores elsewhere in Tokyo.
Gonna have to ditch the Soundsmith Carmen II
There should be no or very little effect of any sort of geometrically proper alignment (Stevenson, Lofgren, or Baerwald) on sibilance, assuming the cartridge is at least close to any of these or any other standard alignment algorithms, in my opini...
Second-hand record stores in Tokyo
Disc Union, near the Ochanomizu train station, which is one stop away from Akihabara station, has a vast selection of both new and used LPs.  They rate their used LPs on an A, B, C scale.  You can buy A and even most B rated LPs sight unseen with ...

All well and good for DL103 lovers, but not for the OP with his Icon phono stage.
